Thisisallgreatnewsforwastereductionofcourse,butithasalsohadsomeunexpectedsocialbenefitsaswell.LikemuchofJapan,Kamikatsu'spopulationisaging,andabout50percentofthelocalsareelderly.Thefactthatthewholecommunitytakestheirtrashintoberecycledhascreatedalocalactionandinteractionbetweengenerations.
