•Whatweneedismoney.我们需要的是钱。

•二、主语从句与形式主语it

•有时为了考虑句子平衡，通常在主语从句处使用形式主语it，而将真正的主语从句移至句末。

这分几种情况：

•

（1）对于以连词that引导的主语从句，通常用形式主语代主语从句

•

（2）对于以连接代词（副词）引导的主语从句，可以使用形式主语代主语从句，也可直接在句首使用主语从句

•（3）对what引导的主语从句，通常直接将主语从句放在句首。

•（4）如果句子是疑问句，则必须用带形式主语it的结构

•

•It’sapitythathedidn’tcome.很遗憾他没来。

•Itisimportantthatheshouldknowaboutthis.他必须知道此事。

•It’svitalthatwebepresent.我们出席是至关重要的。

•Itwasintendedthatyoubethecandidate.大家的意图是让你当候选人。

•Itisimportantthatthismissionnotfail.这项使命不失败至关重要。

•Itisessentialthatameetingbeconvenedthisweek.

•本周开一次会非常重要。

•Itisappropriatethatthistaxbeabolished.

•有时也可用形式主语。

如：

•Itisclearenoughwhathemeant.

•他是什么意思很清楚。

•（4）

•Isittruethatheisthegirl’sfather?

他是那女孩的父亲，是真的吗？

•Howisitthatyouarelateagain?

你怎么又迟到了？

•三、连词that的省略问题

•引导主语从句的连词that有时可省，有时不能省，其原则是：

若that引导的主语从句直接位于句首，则that不能省略；若that引导的主语从句位于句末，而在句首使用了形式主语it，则that可以省略：

•Thatyoudidn’tgotothetalkwasapity.很遗憾你没去听报告。

（that不可省）

•Itwasapity（that）youdidn’tgotothetalk.很遗憾你没去听报告。

（that可省）

•注意

•用来作主语的句子叫做主语从句。

如：

•

（1）Whenhewasbornisunknown.他生于何时还不知道。

•

（2）Whathedidlastnightisbeinginvestigated.他昨天晚上干了些什么正在调查之中。

•在主语从句中须注意：

•1.主语从句一般用it作形式主语，放在句首，而将主语从句放到句末。

如：

•

（1）Itispossiblethathehasstolenthecar.很可能他偷了小车。

•

（2）Isn’titstrangethatheshouldnothavepassedthetest?

他测试没有通过，难道不奇怪吗？

•2.if引导主语从句时，只能用it作形式主语，放在句首，而将if引导的主语从句放到句末。

如：

•ItisuncertainifhewillleaveforBeijingtomorrow.明天他是否去北京还不敢肯定。

•3.that引导主语从句放在句首时，that不可省，但在句末口语中可省。

如：

•Thathewasillyesterdayisknownnow.大家都已知道他昨天生了病。

•4.连接代词引导主语从句通常只能放在句首。

如；

•

（1）Whohasbrokentheglassisunknown.

•谁打破了玻璃现在还不知道。

•

（2）Whathewantsisallhere.

•他所要的东西都在这里。

•5.主语从句中主句的谓语动词一般用第三人称单数形式，但what引导主语从句的主句谓语动词的形式须根据句子的意思来判断。

如:
