(1)occasion一般用词,指某人做某事正是时候,特别是指迫使人不得不产生某种行为的时机。

(3)opportunity所指机会范围较广,常指对自己有利的机会。

嫌疑犯有进行谋杀的动机和机会。
3.seriousadj.
(1)认真的,严肃的
Afterafewjokes,hisspeechbecameserious.几个笑话之后,他的讲话变得严肃起来。
(2)严重的

他犯了一个严重的错误,将受到严厉的处罚。

lacksth.=belackinginsth.;(a)lackof中a可以省略,它在句中常作主语或者宾语。

如果缺钱使你与人打交道时缺乏自信,你会因为缺钱而失去一些重要的品质和机会。
注意:
1)lack作名词时,常接of;作动词时,若是不及物动词,常接for或in。
2)belacking不是进行时,其中lacking是形容词。
3)lack不用于被动语态。

该短语为副词性短语,作状语,可放于句首、句中或句末。
用于句首和句中时,一般用逗号隔开,但在句末时,则不需分开。
