HPStorageWorksMSL2024磁带库结合了高达19.2TB的压缩容量（2:
1）以及在压缩2U外形下的磁带库特征。
复制系统的理想选择，网络管理可以提供许多站点的集中化管理。
MSL2024磁带库提供磁带技术与接口配置选择；选择HPStorageWorksUltrium960,Ultrium920或Ultrium448磁带机或者SCSI,SAS或FC接口。
如果只选择了1台Ultrium920或448磁带机，那么日后随着备份需求的增长，还可以安装其他Ultrium920或448磁带机。
HPStorageWorksMSL2024磁带库还能提供2个12插槽的可拆卸磁带槽，1个邮槽和1个条形码识别软件，以提供有效的介质管理。

HPStorageWorksMSL磁带库-关于MSLG3带库自动清洗功能的说明
问题
本文介绍了MSLG3带库自动清洗功能。
解决方案
MSLG3带库自身都支持自动清洗功能，即在带库中有磁带机在需要清洗的时候，带库会自动使用之前放置好的带有CLNbarcode开头的清洗带对需要清洗的磁带机进行清洗。
清洗带需被放置在已经预留的槽位中。
带库会记录每一盘清洗带的使用次数，当有多个清洗带被放置在带库中时，带库首先使用“从未使用”的清洗带以便开始对所有的清洗带作使用记录，如果所有清洗带都已经被记录，那么，开库会使用被使用次数最多的清洗带。
自动清洗需要手工开启，此功能在被开启的情况下，如果带库中没有清洗带，带库会有报警信息。
启动清洗功能既可以从带库自身实现，也可以从备份软件实现，切忌不能二者同时设置。
开启自动清洗功能操作比较简单，可以从远程管理卡的配置界面或者OCP面板上首先设置reservedslot，然后开启AutoCleaning即可。

IfthehostcomputerwillhavemultipleparallelSCSIdevices,youmustdecidehowtheywillbeconfiguredintooneormoreparallelSCSIbusses.
AboutparallelSCSIbusses
AparallelSCSIbusconsistsofthehostbusadapter（HBA）,theparallelSCSIdevices,theparallelSCSIcables,andtheterminators.TheHBAanddevicesareconnectedinachain,witheachdeviceconnectedtothenext.ThelastdevicemusthaveaSCSIterminator.EachdeviceinthechainmusthaveauniqueSCSIaddress（SCSIID）.
Complexdevices,suchastheLibrary,assignsub-addresses,calledlogicalunitnumbers（LUNs）,todifferentpartsofthedevice.TheHBAandoperatingsystemmustsupportmultipleLUNs,alsocalledLUNscanning,fortheapplicationsoftwaretooperatetheLibrary.HPSmartArraycontrollers,mostthird-partyRAIDcontrollers,andmanyon-boardSCSIcontrollersdonotsupportmultipleLUNs.
AnHBAmighthaveoneortwochannels,witheachchannelsupportingoneparallelSCSIbus.ChecktoseehowmanychannelstheHBAhasandwhatdevicesarealreadyconnectedtotheHBA.Somedevices,suchasparallelSCSIdiskdrives,couldbeinsidetheserver.
ThedevicesonaparallelSCSIbussharebandwidthsobecarefulaboutwhichdevicesyouputtogetheronabus.Also,puttingasingle-ended（SE）SCSIdeviceonthebuswillslowallofthedevicesonthebusdowntoSEspeed.Checkeachdevice'sinterfacespecificationstoseewhatkindofparallelSCSIinterfaceithas.

Optimizingthroughput
Ifpossible,puteachtapedriveonitsownparallelSCSIbus.Foroptimumperformance,eachLTO-3orLTO-4tapedrivemustbeonitsownUltra320SCSIbus.TwoLTO-2tapedrivescanshareanUltra320SCSIbusoreachtapedrivecanbeonitsownUltra160bus.Thiswillgiveyouthebestperformanceandeasiestinstallation.
IfatapedrivemustshareaparallelSCSIbuswithoneormoreotherdevicesortheLibraryhasmultipletapedrivesthatmustshareabus,followtheseguidelinestoplanparallelSCSIbussesforthehighestperformance:
DonotputatapedriveonthesameparallelSCSIbusasadiskdrivebecausethesystemandbackupperformancewillbeslowwhendataiswrittenfromtheharddrivetotapeorfromtapetotheharddrive.
DonotputatapedriveonthesameparallelSCSIbusasadiskarraybecausethediskandthetapedriveperformancewillbeaffected,mostRAIDcontrollersdonotsupportmultipleLUNs,andthedataonthediskarraycouldbecomecorrupted.
AvoidputtinganSESCSIdeviceonthesamebusasatapedrivebecausetheSEdevicewillslowthetapedrivetoSEspeedandreducetheallowablecablelength.
