对于我的儿子而言,我是一个沉湎于语法规则的人,对此我儿子似乎颇为反感。
而当我的学生从欧洲旅游回来,只能把所有希腊文明和罗马建筑的辉煌囊括于一个浓缩的、不完整的语句之中时,我开始认真思考学生正确使用英语能力下降的原因。
原因可以归结为两方面:
一方面学生被周围所看到和听到的语言误导;另一方面,学校只教零星的语法,而高级词汇的教授更是少之又少。
我们可以把语言看成是一张路线图和一部汽车:
我们要常常查看路线图(核对语法)和调整汽车的引擎(调节词汇)。
学好语法和掌握大量的词汇就好比拿着路线图在车况良好的车里驾驶。
对学生来说,有效、准确且富有成效的沟通取决于语法和词汇这两大方面。
(二)背景知识
语法是组词造句的规则。
语法可以分成为两大部分:
词法和句法。
词法包括各类词的形态及其变化;句法主要讲句子的种类和类型,句子成分以及遣词造句的规律。
语法的精髓在于掌握语言的使用,详细分类如下表所示。
