Introduction

In2008，BarackObamahadbeenelectedasAmericanpresident,whichattractedtheWorld'seye,becausehewasthefirstAfricanAmericanpresidentoftheUnitedStates.Fouryearshadpast,Americanwouldbeelectedtheirpresidentin2012.Therehadtwocandidates,Obamaalsowouldre-elected.TheotherwasthePart'snomineeforpresidentMittRomney,FormerGovernorofMassachusetts.Theywouldholdthreedebatesonpresidentialelection.Thenextdebatewasfocusontherightsofwomenandotherproblemrelatedtowomen.ObamamadeaspeechatBarnardCollegeCommencementceremonyonmay14th,hisspeechmightberelatedtohisre-election.Obamaisatalentedspeaker,everyhisaudiencewillabsorbinhisspeechwhenhespeaking,whichmaybealsoisoneofthemainfactorthathewininpresidentialelectionatlast.Thatisthepoweroflanguage.ObamamadeaspeechatBarnardcollege,thisactionmakemanyfemalestudentssupporthim.Becausethatspeechbelongstothepersuasivespeech,heconvincedwomentoserveforsocietyandhetoldthemtheycanmakegreatcontributions.

Whenpeopledosomething,theywillhavetheirownpurposes.Somepeoplewanttofindapay-highjob,sotheygotocollege.Somepeoplewanttogoabroad,sotheylearnEnglish.Somepeoplewanttoaslimfigure,sotheydecidetobeonadiet.Whatevertheydo,theyhavepurpose.Obamaisapolitician,healsoisthepresidentoftheunitedstates.Onmay14th,2012,hehaddeliveredaspeechatBarnardcollegecommencementceremony.Atthattime,hewasthecandidateofpresidentialelection.Therearesomereasonsofhisaction.

1.1Thepresidentialelectionin2012

Theunitedstatesofpresidentialelectionof2012holdonNovember6th,whichwasthe57thpresidentialelectionoftheunitedstates.Everyfouryearsheldpresidentialelectioncampaign.First,electingthegroupofelectioncommissionandthentheywouldelectthepresidentandvice-president.Meanwhile,thelowerhousewhichhad435membersandtheSenatethathad33membersalsowouldbechanged.Andthennewmembersconstitutedthe113thCongressoftheunitedstates（Wyler,77）.BarackObamaaspresentpresidentsoughtfornominationoftheDemocraticparty,hemadeitatlast,andhisopponentwasMittRomneywhoworkedforthePublicanparty.

ThroughoutmostofAmericanstory,Americanpoliticshavebeendominatedbytwopartysystem.ItconsistsoftheDemocraticpartyandtheRepublicanparty.TheDemocraticparty,isoneoftwomajorpoliticalpartiesintheU.S.Itistheoldestpoliticalpartyintheworld.Itpositioneditselfasprogressiveandsupportinglaborineconomicaswellassocialmatters（Wyler,52）.BarackObama,isthe15thDemocrattoholdtheoffice.TheRepublicanpartysupportsanAmericanconservativeplatform,withfurtherfoundationsineconomicliberalism,fiscalconservationandsocialconservation.FormerpresidentGeorgeW.Bushisthe19thRepublicantoholdthatoffice.Theparty'snomineeforpresidentoftheUnitedStatesinthe2012presidentialelectioncampaignwasMittRomney.Sincethe2010midtermelections,theRepublicanshaveheldamajorityintheunitedstatesHouseofrepresentatives.

Infact,thoughthetwopartiesserveforAmericanstate,theystandforthedifferentsocialgroups.theDemocraticpartyfightsforthesmall-middleclassgroup.Onthecontrary,theRepublicanpartystivesfortherichgroup.Soitisimportantthatwhichpartythepresidentcomefrom.Thepresidentialelectionneedspeoplevote.Inotherwords,whohashighvotes,whowinsthepresident.Peoplewillvotetheonewhobenefitthemalot,theycanknowaboutthepolicieswhichthecandidatespushbywatchingTVorlisteningtheirspeech,andthenchooseacandidatewhotheylike.Sothecandidatesalwaysmakeaspeechtomakepeoplesupporthim.Forexample:

Heinspiredwomen,hetoldthemthatwomenwereimportanttothiscountryandwomenalsocoulddobetterthanmen.peopleshouldnotignorewomen,asturningoutfemalevoterswillbekeytohisre-electionprospects.

2.Thecharacteristicsbyhisspeech
