Introduction

ThisdocumentcoversusecasesandpotentialrequirementsforLTEsupportforvehicularcommunicationsservices(representedbytheterm,Vehicle-to-Everything(V2X)Services).TheTRonLTEsupportforV2XservicescontainsthreetypesofV2X(V2V(vehicletovehicle),V2I(vehicletoinfrastructure/network),andV2P(vehicletopedestrian))andbothsafetyandnon-safetyaspects.

1Scope

TheobjectiveofthisTRistoidentifyusecasesandassociatedpotentialrequirementsforLTEsupportofV2XservicestakingintoaccountV2XServicesandparametersdefinedinotherSDOs(e.g.GSMAConnectedLiving,ETSIITS(IntelligentTransportationSystem),USSAE)orrelatedgovernmentalagency(e.g.C-ITSprojectinKoreanMinistryofLand,InfrastructureandTransport).TheessentialusecasesforLTEV2X(V2V,V2I,andV2P)tobestudiedandrequirementsidentifiedareasfollows;

-V2V:

coveringLTE-basedcommunicationbetweenvehicles.

-V2P:

coveringLTE-basedcommunicationbetweenavehicleandadevicecarriedbyanindividual(e.g.handheldterminalcarriedbyapedestrian,cyclist,driverorpassenger).

-V2I:

coveringLTE-basedcommunicationbetweenavehicleandaroadsideunit.
