  Packingwasaprojectinitself.DavehadevencreatedacomputerfilenamedFishingTrip.Itwasachecklistof45thingstotaketoBigBear.Hetooktworods,becauseonFreeFishingDayyouwereallowedtofishwithtworodsinsteadoftheusualonerod.Hetookahoodedsweatshirt,jeans,twopairofsocks,aheavyhoodeddenimjacket,wintergloves,andascarf.Healsotookflip-flops,shorts,aT-shirt,sunglasses,abighat,andalightweightraincoat.IfyougotoBigBearinJune,you’dbetterbepreparedforhotorcold,rainorshine.

  Hepackedacoupleofmagazinestoreadjustincasethefishweren’tbiting.Heandhisfriendsjokedthatthefishwerealwaysbiting-inthespotyoujustleftorthespotyouwereheadedto.
