我叫桂国平，湖北省蕲春县人，是在长江边一个小镇长大的．我出生于工人家庭．1982年，我毕业于武汉大学，我当时的专业是英美语言文学．毕业后，我共在四家机构工作过．我当前的雇主是一家总部在旧金山的美国跨国公司在华子公司。
该公司是从事光学材料研究、开发和生产的。
我是市场部主任．我管理一个12人组成的直属主管市场开发首席执行官的营销团队．我日常工作包括调查这一前沿技术在全球的最新进展、我们竞争者每天的动作，收集我们客户的反馈及向CEO提交报告，以在他决策过程中提供支持。
我的经历使我深信，无论我在学校还是在工作中所学的东西都不能充分地帮助我应对商业世界的变革。
特别是，我们周围总有那么多的新思想、新观念在产生，如果不坚持学习，我将很快被时代抛弃。
这就是为何我选择了在武汉大学这样一所名校学MBA的原因。
