ØCourseDescription
Thiscoursewillpractisebilingualteaching.ItwillintroducethedevelopmentofhistoricalwritingfromtheancienttimesthroughtothepresentdayinEnglishbackground.StudentswillbeencouragedtothinkoverrelatedissuesinEnglish,andassesssourcesthathavebeenusedtorecordthepastalongwithexaminingthevariousmethodologiesemployedbyhistoriansinstudyinghistory.
ØCourseObjectives
A.Tointroducemajorhistoriansindifferentages,aswellastheirworks,theirhistoricalideasandtheirmethodologies.
B.Tousediscussionsessionsasanopportunitytoencourageacriticalstudyofopinionsandperspectivesonissuesraisedbycoursematerials.
C.Todevelopanalyticalskillsinassessingthepast,andtoapplytheseindiscussionsandinwrittenassignments.
ØCourseFormat
Thiscoursewillgenerallybecomposedoflectures,discussions,andpresentations.Duringtheformallectures,somecoursematerialswillbeoffered,andstudentswillberequiredtoparticipateinclassdiscussionsabouthowtounderstandandexplainthesesources.Attheendofthecourse,studentswillalsobeassignedtogivepresentationsabouttheiressays.
