EachtimetheSeaglidercomestothesurface,itsendsthedatawhichitcollectstoitscontrollersbysatellite.Operatorscanalsosendthesubmarinenewinformation.Forexample,theycanchangeitscourseintheirofficethroughgivingthecomputerorders.

Seaglidersarealreadybeingusedforscientificre-search,suchasenvironmentalstudies.iRobotalsohopestosellthesubmarinetothemilitary(军队).At$100,000each,theSeagliderisacheapwaytokeepaneyeontheocean.
