1、ATInstrument13 ATInstrumentThis application can be used to add new Felix test sites and instruments into the system, to change the location of sites and instruments, to show which instruments are in use at a site, at which site an instrument is in use and to track the calibration and repair of instr
2、uments.13.1 InstrumentsThe instrument tab allows you to edit instruments, search for instruments and add new instruments. In the model section, you can edit a model or create a new one. Finally, you can launch a wizard that will guide you through the calibration process. Edit InstrumentTo edit an in
3、strument when you know its CTK number, enter the number in the instrument text box and press enter or hit the “Edit Instrument” button. Search InstrumentIf you want to edit an instrument but you dont know the CTK number, or search for a group of instruments, or generate a report, hit the “Search Ins
4、trument” button. Add New InstrumentTo add a new instrument, hit the “New Instrument” button. Calibrate Instruments To update the calibration details of several instruments, hit the “Calibration Wizard” button. Edit Model To edit a model, select one from the drop-down list and hit the “Edit Model” bu
5、tton. Add New ModelTo add a new model, hit the “New Model” button.13.1.1 Adding a new instrument Enter the Serial number and GPIB Address. If the instrument is on loan or hire then tick the appropriate boxes. Select a model from the drop-down list. This will automatically fill in the details of the
6、model section. Selecting a manufacturer or an instrument type can help you to reduce the choice in the model drop-down list. Select a Test Site or Location. Choosing a test site will automatically fill in the location fields with the actual location of the test site. If the instrument is not used on
7、 a test site, you can choose the location individually:o Select “No Site” in the Site drop-down list.o Select a facility from the drop-down list.o Select a location within the facility from the drop-down list, or enter a new location by hitting the New Location button, entering the location name and
8、 hitting OK.o Select an area within the location from the drop-down list, or enter a new area by hitting the New Area button, entering the area name and hitting OK. Enter any additional information in the comment box. Hit the Save button. The ID is allocated and displayed. The edit instrument dialog
9、 is opened.13.1.2 Editing an instrument Edit the required fields. If an instrument is damaged or lost, tick the appropriate box. To edit the site on which the instrument is in use, hit the “Edit Site” button. You can change the site on which the instrument will be used. Entry of the instance number
10、is optional, if omitted it will be automatically computed. On the “Event History” tab, you can selectt the type of events you want to see, by choosing in the drop-down box either “All events”, “Calibration only” or “Repair only”.13.1.2.1 Updating the calibration information Depending on the state of
11、 the instrument, you can either send to calibration, or return it from calibration, by hitting the calibration button. You can also edit a particular calibration event by double clicking on it in the Event History table. Finally, you can delete a particular event from the history, by selecting it in
12、 the table and hitting the “Delete Event” button and confirming that you want to delete the event.13.1.2.1.1 Sending to calibration Select a calibration company from the drop-down list or enter a new company by hitting the “New Company” button, entering the company name and hitting OK. Select the da

Hit the “OK” button13.1.2.1.2 Returning an instrument from calibration Select the date the instrument was returned from calibration. Enter any additional comment about the calibration process. H
14、it the “OK” button.13.1.2.1.3 Editing a calibration event Edit the required fields. (You cannot change “Date Sent”). Hit the “OK” button.13.1.2.2 Updating the repair information Depending on the state of the instrument, you can either send it for repair or return it from repair by hitting the Repair
15、 button. You can also edit a particular repair event by double clicking on it in the Event History table. You can delete a particular event from the history by selecting it in the table, hitting the “Delete Event” button and confirming that you want to delete the event.13.1.2.2.1 Sending to repair S
16、elect a repair company from the drop-down list or enter a new company by hitting the “New Company” button, entering the company name and hitting OK. Select the date the instrument was sent to repair. If known, select the date you expect the instrument to be back. Enter the reason why the instrument
17、was sent to repair in the “fault” box. Hit the “OK” button.13.1.2.2.2 Returning an instrument from repair Select the date the instrument was returned from repair. Enter comments about the repair process in the “Findings” box. Hit the “OK” button.13.1.2.2.3 Editing a calibration event Edit the requir
18、ed fields. (You cannot change “Date Sent”). Hit the “OK” button13.1.2.3 Making an instrument obsolete Hit the Obsolete button. Confirm that you want to make the instrument obsolete. The obsolete date for the instrument is recorded and the instrument may not be added to any other site.13.1.2.4 Printi
19、ng a label Hit the Print button. The instrument number label is printed, including its bar code.13.1.3 Searching for instruments Choose the seach criteria. You can select a combination of fields to search on. To search for an event between two dates, enter the start date in the first field and the e
20、nd date in the second field. To search for an event before a particular date, enter it in the second field. To search for an event after a particular date, enter it in the first field. Hit the “Search” button. To edit a particular instrument in the result list, double click on its line. To export th
21、e result list, hit the “Export to Excel” button. To start another search, hit the “Reset” button.13.1.3.1 Searching for instruments out of calibration Enter the current date in the second field of “Next Calibration”.13.1.4 Bulk calibrationYou can update the calibration information of several instrum
22、ents at the same time by hitting the “Calibration Wizard” button. Hit “Next” Choose the type of operation you want to perform. Select the date the instrument was sent to calibration or the date it was returned, depending on the nature of the operation. If you are sending to calibration and you know
23、the date you expect the instrument to be back, enter it. Select a calibration company from the drop-down list or enter a new company by hitting the “New Company” button, entering the company name and hitting OK. Enter the instruments you want to update. Hit the “Add” button after each instrument Rem
24、ove an instrument from the selection by selecting it and hitting the “Remove” button. Hit the finish button to complete the wizard To export the list of instruments updated, hit the “Export to Excel” button. Hit the OK button13.1.5 Adding a new model Enter the Model name. Select a manufacturer from
25、the drop-down list, or enter a new manufacturer by hitting the “New Manufacturer” button, entering the manufacturer name and hitting OK. Select an instrument type from the drop-down list, or enter a new instrument type by hitting the “New Type” button, entering the instrument type name and hitting O
26、K. Enter the description of the model. If the instrument requires vendor calibration, enter the calibration duration in days. If Felix uses a different model to represent the new model, select it from the drop-down list. If not, leave it blank. Hit the “Reset Felix Model” button to clear the Felix m
27、odel. Hit the “Add Model” button, or “Cancel” if appropriate.13.1.6 Editing a model Edit the required fields. (You can not change the Model name) Hit the “Update Model” button, or “Cancel” if appropriate.13.2 SitesThe Site tab let you edit sites (including obsolete ones), and add new sites. To edit
28、a site select one from the drop-down list and hit the “Edit Model” button. To see the obsolete sites in the drop-down list, tick the “Show Obsolete Site” box. To add a new site, hit the “New Site” button.13.2.1 Adding a new test site Enter the Site Id: this is the computer name. Select a facility fr
29、om the drop-down list. Select a location within the facility from the drop-down list, or enter a new location by hitting the New Location button, entering the location name and hitting OK. Select an area within the location from the drop-down list, or enter a new area by hitting the New Area button,
30、 entering the area name and hitting OK. Hit the “Add Site” button or “Cancel” as appropriate.13.2.2 Editing a Test Site Edit the location information if required. To edit an instrument used on the test site, double click on the line. Hit the OK button or Cancel as appropriate.13.2.2.1 Adding an inst
31、rument to a test siteThis is usually only used for GPIB cards, which do not have labels. Other instruments are added to sites by ATEngine when they are scanned in. Hit the Add Instrument button. You will see the following dialog: Enter the Instrument Id and Instance. Hit the “Add” button. The instrument is added, the obsolete date for the previous site and the effective date for the new site are recorded, and the list is refreshed.13.2.2.2 Removing an instrument Select the instrument you want to remove. Hit the Remove Instrument button. The instrument is removed and the list is refreshed.13.
