2、companies!In the Cultural Representative Program,participants share their culture and customs with our Guests who visit from all over the world.To qualify for this program,participants must authentically represent one of the countries or regions we have recreated in look and feel at the Walt Disney
3、World Resort.Participants in this program will work in Food and Beverage,Attractions,Kidcot or Merchandise at one of the themed pavilions at Epcot World Showcase;in Guest Relations at one of our four theme parks or the Downtown Disney Area;or at Disneys Animal Kingdom Theme Park or Disneys Animal Ki
4、ngdom Lodge.In this role,participants will have the opportunity to share the unique culture and customs of their country with Guests,while handling the specific positions traditional responsibilities.The Cultural Representative Program is a 12-month experience,although program length may vary with t

6、Cultural Representatives will work in the Epcot China Pavilion.Epcot opened at the Walt Disney World Resort on October 1,1982.As part of Epcot,World Showcase has become a community of nations;the only permanent international exposition of its kind,focusing on the culture,traditions,tourism and accom
7、plishments of people around the world.This community of nations is represented by the United Kingdom,France,Morocco,Japan,Italy,Germany,China,Norway,Mexico,the United States of America and Canada.Approaching the China Pavilion,Guests are greeted by a large,colorful gate.Ahead,three terraces rise to
8、form the base for the Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests.Inside the Hall of Prayer,delicate artwork embellishes the high ceiling and stone floor.The entire Hall serves as the pre-show lobby with wondrous scenes of China,including the Great Wall,the Yangtze and Yellow Rivers,and cities such as Beijing,
9、Guilin and Shanghai.Exiting the theater,Guests find themselves in the lively,bustling atmosphere of a modern Chinese commercial district.The large marketplace of indoor shops and outdoor carts features such quality Chinese products as silk robes,jade jewelry,books,porcelain,lanterns,art objects,hand
10、crafted paper goods and more.Opposite the shops is the House of the Whispering Willows,an art gallery featuring changing exhibits of rare and authentic pieces of Chinese art.Next to the merchandise shops is the Lotus Blossom Caf,a counter-service restaurant where Guests may snack on egg rolls or oth
11、er Chinese treats.The elegant Nine Dragons Restaurant offers a diverse menu featuring specialties from many areas of China,including the Hunan,Szechuan and Canton provinces.Outside on the terrace,Guests enjoy performances by Chinese acrobats and other authentic entertainment of this very diverse cou

13、n Kidcot Fun StopsThe Kidcot Fun Stops appear in all of the pavilions around World Showcase at Epcot and serve as a platform for cultural interaction with children.Kidcot Fun Stops duties may include:Greeting and interacting with Guests while promoting the participants cultural heritage Organizing c
14、raft projects for children Maintaining the cleanliness of the Kidcot Fun Stops area and pavilion Interacting and engaging in cultural activities Language exchange China Pavilion Exhibition Corporation China Pavilion Exhibition Corporation,an Operating Participant at the Walt Disney World Resort,oper
15、ates the full-service restaurant,the quick-service restaurant and the merchandise shops at the China Pavilion.Working in these areas,participants would be an employee of China Pavilion Exhibition Corporation,an independent company;but still part of the Disney International Programs.Food and Beverage
16、 duties may include:Greeting and interacting with Guests while promoting the participants cultural heritage Selling food and beverages,including alcoholic beverages,at outdoor carts Escorting Guests to tables in the restaurant Using a computerized cash register and reservation system Taking Guests o
17、rders and serving food Setting,stocking and cleaning tables,carts and restaurant Emptying trash cans Merchandise duties may include:Greeting and interacting with Guests while promoting the participants cultural heritage Demonstrating and selling pavilion merchandise in indoor and outdoor areas Opera
18、ting a computerized cash register Setting up,stocking and cleaning shelves and carts Maintaining the cleanliness of the shops Hourly Wage While a part of Disney International Programs,Cast Members wages will be dependent on the role they fulfill and the company for which they work.Some of the roles
19、for which we hire are roles with Walt Disney World Operating Participants,and all wage decisions,benefits and hours worked will be determined by that party.However,all participants who are employed by Operating Participants will still be a part of the Disney International Programs.Participants emplo
20、yed directly by Disney are guaranteed to be scheduled a minimum of 32 hours per week,but will most likely work 40-45 hours per week.However,participants are welcome to sign up for any additional work shifts if they are available.During our peak and holiday seasons,Cast Members may be scheduled to wo
21、rk more than 45 hours per week.Participants days off may vary from week to week.Work Schedules Cast Members may be working nights,weekends or holidays during their program,possibly in a variety of different positions.Because the Walt Disney World Resort is a vacation destination,we are busiest when
22、the rest of the world is on holiday.Flexibility and full availability in a participants work schedule are keys to success in this program.Our multicultural environment encourages everyone to achieve both personal and professional growth.Disney International Programs participants have the opportunity
23、 to learn from experienced Disney professionals.They can also take advantage of valuable resources at the Disney Cast Service Centers,which are self-directed career resource centers located throughout the Walt Disney World Resort.Our company established these centers to provide all Walt Disney World
24、 Cast Members access to the tools they need for ongoing career development.The Cast Service Centers have become a staple of the Disney International Programs learning experience.Each location is staffed to offer hands-on assistance when needed.Cast Service Center offers four basic services:Library s
25、ervices Computer-based learning Learning activities Career resources Library Services Cast Members may check out resources in various formats including books,DVDs and CDs.These resources enhance their personal and professional development and complement their working and living experiences.The Cast
26、Service Center team is constantly supplementing resources based on leading business theories and trends.Cultural diversity is an important focus of the Cast Service Centers.Cast Members can study various cultures and put theory into practice daily as they encounter Guests and Cast Members from all o
27、ver the world.Language resources rate as some of the most popular activities in our centers.The Cast Service Centers provide a variety of resources to support Cast Members.In addition to these readings,other topics focus on improving Guest service,improving communication,change management,leadership
28、 development and time management.These resources can prove invaluable to anyone preparing for adventure in todays business world.Computer-Based Learning Every day,computers are becoming more important to the future of business,and Walt Disney World Cast Members have the opportunity to improve their
29、computer skills at Cast Service Centers.Computer tutorials cover topics such as Microsoft Word and Excel,Front Page and Outlook.In addition to computer programs,participants may select tutorials that cover languages,marketing,accounting and finance.Also,Cast Members may use computers at Cast Service
30、 Center or the Disney Learning Center at Vista Way for Internet research.Career Resources The Cast Service Centers have a vast collection of resources that help our Cast Members focus on preparing for a job search,including tutorials on creating a r sum/CV,sharpening interviewing skills,and more.Man
31、y of these resources are mentioned above.Our housing allows Cast Members the possibility to live and interact with people from all over the world.They will meet people using our transportation system,working out at the fitness centers or while sunning or swimming at the pools.Our apartment complexes
32、 feature one-,two-,three-and four-bedroom apartments,and all bedrooms are shared by two people.The weekly housing cost,which includes all amenities,varies depending on the size and location of the apartment.All assignments are based on a number of factors,including type of program,arrival and depart
33、ure dates,gender,age(over or under 21),availability,etc.There is no co-ed housing.Please note housing is only allowed for participants of the program,and no one under the age of 18 is permitted in housing.Housing costs range from$86-108 per week,depending on the size of the apartment and the amenities offered at the complex.To make the living experience more convenient,the housing costs are deduct
