5、increased by a better organization and teaching methods. This hypothesis is verified by a four- week practice of classroom teaching with the specially designed writing exercise activities. Then how can we make our students write correctly, Wed better try our best to improve our student writing level

Introduction As a middle

9、school teacher, its very necessary to give guidance on the students writing and its quite important for the students to practice writing more. Students have to face many different situations in which they should write in English.I have been teaching the students who are in the their third year of a

10、middle school . In my teaching I have found there are some problems. Now Ill finish my study in Hami TV University. I hope I can solve the problems that have troubled me for some time through the action research so that I can apply my knowledge and theory into practice, which I learned from Hami TV

Problem analysisThis part of my study was conducted during May5,2013-May 15,2013.2.1 ProblemThe problem I have in my teaching is that most of the students do not like doing the writing practice I assigned them to do after class.In my teaching , the problem identified was actually a ser

12、ious problem .I think there are three main reasons that accounted for students reluctance to do the writing assignments after class.Firstly, some students do not feel interested in practicing writing work after class,They didnt want to do it .Secondly, Their vocabulary is too limited.There are too m

13、any grammar errors in their composition.Thirdly, Many students English writing level can not be improved,due to their lack of confidence.The Problem had been troubling me for a long time and now I was determined to find a solution to the problem. In my study, I used for methods of analysis.2.1.1 Ana

14、lysis methodThough careful analysis , I was led to a lot of questions: for example, I found a majority of my students do not like doing this assignments, and I want to know why it should be the case ,and 4 whether they thought it important and necessary to practice writing in English or not ?If they

15、 thought it important and necessary, the problem was actually caused by myself, not by my students. Probably the writing task I assigned my students to do was poorly organized.2.1.2 Cause analysisIn this situation, I asked myself many questions and tried to provide some answers for them. Why did mos

16、t of my students not do writing task I assigned them to do after class? In order to know more about this issue, I assigned a cause exploration procedure like this: Questions and Answers1 Is it because they do not like writing English? Maybe.2 Is it they are not motivative? Possible yes.3 Is it becau

17、se they do like to do practise writing tasks alone? Maybe.4 Is it bevause they do not think writing tasks are important and necessary?Maybe.5 Is it because I enable students to pass exams that demand writing skills? Yes.6 Is it because the writing task are poorly designed? Maybe.7 Is it because my i

22、part of my study was conducted during May18,2013-Jun20,2013.3.1 Make up groups Through the investigations, I found there were two main problems for them to do writing practice by themselves. One was the family members of most students did not know or hardly knew English. The other was that they coul

23、d not exchange their ideas with others. Through analysis, I thought that I should create chances for them to communicate with each other in English. So I decided to group them so that they will help and learn from each other. In my class there are 45 students, so I divided them into 9 groups. When I

24、 did the work, I followed three principles.3.1.1 Members of each group lived in the same area. They could exchange their ideas anywhere and anytime.3.1.2 Each group was composed of the students of different English levels so that good students could help those who had legged behind.3.1.3 Each group

25、was made up of the students who come from different families and had different life experience so that they might have different ideas which might be useful during their writing practice.3.2 Provide materialsIn order to help the students do the task better, I provided them with a lot of materials. M

26、oreover, I also especially selected those materials that were close to real life and could interest the students. With such help, they could be more confident than before.3.3 Ask them to performI created chances for the students to read good composition. Most of them are willing to show their abilit

27、ies before others. And most of them hope to be praised and encouraged by the teacher and other students. They looked very excited and anxious to read.More students were very happy and earnest to practice after class.As we say “Practice makes perfect.” If we want to improve the students ability, we h

28、ave to require them to practice writing step by step. In order to realize the aim, I take the following steps:A:Keep a diary in English B:Provide good examples C:Write in limited time3.4 Check their write workI decided to check their writing work because many students would usually do better under t

29、he supervision of their teachers or parents. Assign a topic, and ask the students to write on it, at the same time the teacher had better write on it. After the students complete the writing, the teacher can choose a good writing of the students to read to the class, or read the teachers own writing

30、 to the class. I sometimes read the sample to the class. After having reading, point out the merits and guide them find their weak points. This not only can help the students to make their writing better in time, but also help the poor students to know how to write the kind of article.3.5Reduce thei

31、r pressureI adopted two effective measures to reduce their pressure.One was to give them less written homework and helped them try to do write practice in class. The other was to give them longer time so that they would have enough time to collect information for the topic and finish the task.4. Wri

32、ting Practice DesignMy hypothesis is that learners interest in writing practice after class is Increased by better organized activities. Moreover, my new assignment activities should have a real information value so that students have a real purpose to communicate. I have designed four activities to be tried out in four weeks .And these activities are reported as follows.Week1 Activity1 To write an e-mail to your e-pal.This activity is based as in middle English for China, Book 1B, Unit7, Lesson25.
