One is named Wei Cheng a boy living in the city, and the other is Gao Zhanxi a boy living

During the exchange, Wei Cheng changed from a “lost” boy to a well-behaved boy because of the hard life in the countryside. In the past, Wei Cheng did not like study, spent too much time on the Internet, did not get alo

Gao Zhanxi studied hard and treated his parents well, after he came to the colorful city, he was “lost” for some time, but he found himself back when he knew that life in the city was hard as well. In China, ther

They seek excitements, do things against the tradition, lack faith, lay too much stress on material life and so on. Because of the above, some people consider them as “The Lost Generation”.The te

12、rm The Lost Generation came from an American woman writer named Gertrude Stein(1874-1946), who had lived in Paris since 1903. She welcomed these young writers to her apartment, and gave them encouragement and help. She called these young writers The Lost Generation by saying to a mechanic in Hemingw

16、 Lost Generation” in America. Although this title has not been permitted by the authority yet, no one can deny the existence of this phenomenon in the real life. These perverse things done by the Chinese youth just reflect their dissatisfactions with the society and the unhappiness in their hearts.

17、Their present situation is far from their satisfactions, and both society and individuals should make efforts to change the situation.I. The Comparison Between “The Lost Generation” in America and Todays Chinese YouthWhat I said in the above content shows that the Chinese youth are similar to “The L

The Epoch Background of “The Lost Generation” in AmericaThe World War I took place in 1914, and America also joined the war. Many young Americans joined the w

Great changes took place in the decade following the war. During this era, the American economy experienced spectacular

However, the war changed the outlook of all Americans in very significant ways and intensified their pessimism and disenchantment with what was peculiarly American. Economically, the emphasis on mass production and Giant Corporat

Many people became disillusioned with the nations political life, and disgusted at the vigorous materialism of post-war prosperity, and the new frivolous, greedy, heedless way of life in the early 1920s. (Ding Yongshu, 194)They could not

So, they did a set of perverse things to express their dissatisfactions and hopelessness.2. The Epoch Background of Todays Chinese YouthChina has been developing steadily in all aspe

The economy is developing smoothly, even faster than many developed countries people are becoming richer and richer; the politics is stable; the military strength is also at the leading

What is more, many new things have been brought into China from other countries, including the good and the bad, since the policy of reformation and opening has been carried out. I would like to take The Great Gatsby of F. Scott Fitzgerald for example. Gatsby tried his best to earn money, because he thought

When he was rich, many people got close to him and showed their respect for him, which was not real; but when he died, even nobody was willing to attend

Being Disgusted with the Hopeless Society and Their Life, and Trying to Hide Their Inner Void by Indulging Themselves At the beginning, people thought that they could regain the peaceful life when the war was over. But they found that the whole society had been changed. They could not adapt themselves to the new society. People did not trust each other any more, and they just cared about themselves.
