3、y cause physical illness, insomnia, headaches,backaches, ulcers, high blood pressure-even heart disease.When stress does occur, its important to recognize and deal with it. There ore some methods we can try. A large number of physical activities can reduce onxiety. Shoring our stress with others can

4、 be enormously helpful. Making time for fun such os listening to music may be good medicine. Sometimes even crying is on efficient way to releose stress.2. On Pressure(277 words)There are so many things or desires that a man has to bear or to seek. And almost every one of us feels exhausted. Every d

5、ay we jump out of bed with the earsplitting ring of the alarm clock, swallow a quick breakfast and then rush to catch the bus. When arriving at the workplace, we have to work every minute to its full value until we drag home and throw ourselves deep into the sofa. The fast pace of modem life do brin

6、g us great pressure.The first stress-maker is competition. Nowadays, many people, the strongly career minded ones in particular, are involved in a fierce competition for money, ranks, and fame. In the rat race, they try every means to stay on the top, and the fear to lose the game inevitably wrecks

7、their peace of mind. The second, a reason closely related to the first one, is unhappy interpersonal relationships. Some people are so stupid at people skills that they always feel ill at ease when working with others. As a result, they cant make themselves part of a group, and the loneliness greatl

8、y distress them. How can we adapt ourselves to the stress then? Above all, we should develop a positive attitude towards competition. That is, competition is not the ultimate goal of life, but a driving force that motivates us to fulfill our dreams and to realize our personal values. On the other ha

9、nd, it is demanding for us to keep people aware of the importance of developing a schedule which includes enough time for rest and other important values. 3. Stress in Modern Life (207 words)As everyone knows, stress is a natural part of everyday life and there is no way to avoid it. As the pace of

10、modern life continues to increase, we are always feeling on the go from morning till night. And it is hard to slow down. It seems to us that everyone around us is aggressive. Therefore, whatever one does, he feels under stress all the time. It is clear that stress has much to do with the life in a c

11、ompetitive society. Different people, however, think of stress quite differently. Some believe that stress is not the bad thing it is often supposed to be. They are of the opinion that a certain amount of stress is vital to provide motivation and to give purpose to life. Others argue that stress con

12、tributes to ones mental decline and hence endangers his health. According to them, relaxation, the opposite of stress, is essential for a healthy mind and body. Personally, Im in favor of the former view. I think it is impossible to avoid stress when one is entirely devoted to the career he pursues.

13、 In my opinion, it is only when the stress gets out of control that it can lead to poor performance and ill health. 4. Graduates pressure in finding jobsNowadays, more and more university graduates complain that graduation does not equate to employment. They experience great difficulties finding sat

14、isfactory jobs. What is the cause of this phenomenonIn my opinion, there are four causes:First, graduates lack experience. They spend most of their time at school studying academic subjects and lack relevant job training. Only after graduation do they realize its hard to find jobs.Second, competitio

15、n among graduates grows more bitter and more bitter and bitter. The supply of university graduates exceeds social demand. This results in a decreased chance for any individual graduate to find a job.Third, some students dont study hard. Some of them skip classes just because they have no interest in

16、 certain subjects. Some play computer games or pursue other interests. Some sleep in class or in the library. Then they leave the sheltered environment of the university campus, to discover they dont have adequate knowledge to apply for many positions, which makes them feel lost and frustrated.Final

17、ly, some graduates are conceited. They lack experience but ask for a high salary, which is impractical.So, university students should try their best to change this situation. When they are in school, they should make the most of their time and put their heart into their studies. They can hold part-t

18、ime jobs in their spare time to accumulate relevant work experience. They should take part in some social activities and provide themselves with special training, if possible. When they graduate and apply for jobs, they should attach more importance to accumulating experience than to their starting

19、salary.5. On University Students Pressure in Finding JobsAbout a decade ago, university students could find satisfactory and enviable jobs after their graduation. But now, things are different. Todays university students usually have much pressure in finding fairly good jobs. They always say disappo

20、intedly that graduation means joblessness. Why nowadays university students have so much pressure in finding jobs?In my opinion, this kind of pressure is mainly caused by three reasons. Firstly, the government is enrolling more and more university students year by year. And the growth of the student

21、s number has surpassed that of the need of the society. So, when so many students graduate at a time, the chance of finding jobs becomes tiny. Secondly, todays university students, most of them are the only-child, who are more mentally frail. Since they are indulged greatly at home and havent been t

22、rained to do things on their own, once it is their turn to go out of the campus and find jobs by themselves and decide what kind of jobs to choose, they feel bewildered and dont know what to do. If their first try fails, they will be frustrated and think that it is really hard to find jobs. Thirdly,

23、 some university students are not qualified for good and challenging jobs. After entering the university, they dont study as hard as they did in high schools. They begin to sleep during the class or even be absent for classes. Some are addicted to computer games or Jin Yongs novels, or step into the

24、 two-person-world too early. Because these things have taken up so much of their time and energy, their study is neglected. After four years of university life, they havent gained the knowledge those fairly good jobs or certain positions require.6. Stress (251words) Stress comes in all shapes and si

25、ze, and has become pervasive, it seems to penetrate everything and everybody, its hard to get through a day without hearing or reading something about stress. Some doctors refer to stress as some kind of new plague However, numerous surveys confirm that the problem has progressively risen since the

26、1980s. Why all the disorder? After all, stress has been around since Adam and Eve were in the Garden of Eden, Stress is an unavoidable consequence of life. Without stress, there would be no life. However, just as distress can caw disease, there are good stresses that balance this, and promote wellne

27、ss. Increased stress results in increased productivity-up to a point. However, this level differs for each of us. Its very much like the stress on a violin string. Not enough produces a dull. harsh sound. Too much makes sharp, annoying noir, or causes the string to snap. However, just the right degr

28、ee can create magnificent tones. Similarly, we all need to find the proper level of stress that promotes optimal performance, and enables us to make harmonious music. Good health is more than just the absence of illness. Rather, it is a very robust state of physical and emotional well being that ack

29、nowledges the importance and inseparability of mind/body relationships. In the next program. 31、s not avoidable but could be minimized. Those who see stress as an enemy will probably live an irritable life which is quite unnecessary. How then do we cope with stress? I am going to give you tips that have helped and are still helping me in coping with life in the city of Lagos Nigeria, the most

32、populous African city, where orientation of people is quite different in many ways about stress and living with others. 1. Wrong views on stress Get the right meanings and impression on stress. Those who misconstrued some daily activities or physical exercises as stress will likely be over burdened by what stress is not. You could read up some literatures, journals, or visit some websites and publications like this website to get to know more on stress.
