IntroductionWith the rapid development of economic globalization, as we all know , English has become the most widely used language in international communication around the world. The primary school English teaching is the foundation of basic education as wel

5、l as the key to cultivating and training talents. It is no doubt that English education plays a significant role in the basic education of China. In order to make pupils a solid foundation in English, primary school teachers are faced with a new and tough challenge ,in which is how to teach English

6、well. The key to achieve the goal is to inspire pupils motivations to learn in the English class. The motivation is not only an inner strength for promoting students English learning interests ,but also is a strong driving force for students to learn. Once students have a deep interest in English, t

The Related Theories of Arousing the Pupils interest2.1.1 What is interest ?To explain interest in psychological terms, it is a tendency of exploring some things actively and some activities. It obtains a positive attitude and selective emotion.Pe

8、ople will pay more attention to things which they think its interesting.For example, if a young boy is interested in playing football, he will grasp opportunities to participate in playing football actively ,watching the games,reading the sport magazines ,even he will try his best to join a football

He feels happy, relaxed and much fun when playing football.On the contrary,if the boy lose interest in football,he will never do those.2.1.2 The functions of interest to learnWhat is learning ?It is a social practice activity which is influenced by interest .Learnin

The interest for a students individual development has a huge function to his study and life.Only students are interested in something will they have active brains ,think deeply and obtain more knowledge. 12、 on Learning English2.2.1 From psychological angleA psychological survey shows that the outstanding features of pupils are being naughty, lively, and easily tired while attending a class, and they cannot concentrate the mind on learning new things for a longer time than adults.To make full of pupils

13、 advantages and avoid their disadvantages, teachers should help to arouse their curiosity ,and enhance their confidence during the class.To encourage every student to take active part in class,and enjoy themsevles.Let them know studying is a kind of happy thing but not a kind of burden. 2.2.2 From p

14、hysiological angle .There is an excitement center in the brain cortex which can make attention gathering attentive, memory sharp, thinking active and can give a quick reaction clearly.（李如密,1995） On the contrary; no interest means no reactions. So grasping the interest is very important in teaching i

Interest not only can promote the learners ability to put

It can show the teachers teaching ability and train the students listening ability.“A good beginning makes a go

At the beginning of every class, the teacher may spend five minutes having the students talk about the food,animals weather, sport, funny stories, short plays, news from home and school and so on. 32、pplied to education.Every child likes watching cartoon and listening to music, the audio-visual teaching can make children learn in playing and play in learning. It uses images, pictures, cartoons,stories and music to teach pupil directly to increase pupilsinterests in studying .Learning the new knowledge with happy is very important for the pupils.During the teaching, the colorful scene, the beautiful music, the interesting conversation and the vivid pronunciations will attract the pupils and make their brain excited all the time.
