2、s other people.Also,sometimes I am clumsy and drop things or bump into furniture.The doctors dont know exactly what is wrong with me,so they dont know how to make me well.Unfortunately,they cant me whether I will get worsg as I get older,or I will stay the same as I am now.I have learned to adapt to
3、 my disability.My motto is:live one day at a time.Up until I was about 10 years old,I was the same as everyone else in my class.I used to climb trees and swim and play football.In fact,I used to dream about one day being a famous football player and representing my country in the World Cup.Then I st
4、arted to get weaker and weaker.Some days I was too tired to get out of bed. I went into hospital for tests.I stayed there for nearly three months and missed a lot of school.I think I had at least o billion tests while I was there,including one in which they cut out a piece of muscle from my leg and
5、looked at it under a microscope.Even after all the tests,no one could give my disease a name,so it is difficult to know what the future will be like.One of the worst things about my disease is that I dont look any different from other people.So sometimes kids laugh at me when I get out of breath aft
6、er running just a short way or I have to stop half way up the stairs and rest before I can get up to the top.Sometimes,I am too weak to go to school,so I have missed a lot of lessons.Every time after a long absence from school,I feel really stupid because I am a bit behind the others.My life is a lo
7、t easier at high school than it was at primary school.My fellow students have begun to accept me for who I am.Of course,there will always be a few who cannot see the real person inside my body,but I do not get annoyed,I just ignore them.All in all,I have a good life.I am happy to have found many thi
8、ngs I can do really well,like writing and computer programming.My am-bition is to work in the computer industry when I grow up.Last year I invented a computer football game and a big company has decided to buy it from me.I have a very busy life and I dont have time to sit around feeling sorry for my
9、self.As well as going to the movies and football matches with my friends when I am well enough,I spend a lot of time with my pets.I have two rabbits,five mice and a tank full of fish.Also,I am the only student in my class to have a pet snake.My pets take a lot of time to look after,but I get a lot o
10、f enjoyment out of them.I have a lot of study to do as well,especially after I have been sick for a while.In many ways my disability has made me grow stronger and more independent.I have had to work hard to live a normal life,but it has been worth it.If I had the chance to say one thing to healthy k

15、e feel they are not as important as other customers.2 Earphones for people who have trouble hearing.There should be earphones beside all seats,not just a few.This will allow hearing-Impaired customers to enjoy the company of their hearing friends rather than having to sit in a special area.3 Raised
16、seating.The seats at the back of the cinema should be placed higher than the ones at the front so that everyone,whether they are short or tall,can see the screen easily.There should be a space at the end of each row so that people in wheelchairs can sit beside their friends.4 Toilets.There should be
17、 toilets for the disabled near the entrances to the cinema.It is not good enough to have only one disabled toilet in the basement a long way from where the movie is showing.5 Car parking.Of course,there also have to be car parking spaces especially for the disabled and elderly and it should be easy

21、the robot,she felt alarmed.The robot,called Tony,didnt look like a machine at all.He was tall and handsome although his facial expressions never changed.His hair was smooth and black and his voice was deep.On the second morning Tony brought her breakfast and then asked her whether she needed help dr
22、essing.She felf embarrassed and quickly told him to go.It was disturbing and frightening that he looked so human.One day,Claire mentioned that she didnt think she was clever.Tony said that she must feel very unhappy to say that.Claire thought it was ridiculous to be offered sympathy by a robot.But s

27、 that Gladys thought she was having an affair.After all,she knew Claires husbands name was Larry,not Tony.When Claire got home,she wept with anger.Gladys was evergthing Glaire wanted to be.You can be like her,Tony told her and he suggested that she in vite Gladys and her friends to the house the nig
28、ht before he was to leave and Larry was to return.By that time,Tony expected the house to be completely transformed.Tony worked steadily on the improvements.Claire tried to help once but was too clumsy.She fell off a ladder and even though Tony was in the next room,he managed to catcn her in time.He
29、 held her firmly in his arms and she felt the warmth of his body.She screamed,pushed him away and ran to her room for the rest of the day.The night of the party arrived.The clock struck eight.The guests would be arriving soon and Claire told Tony to go into another room.At that moment.Tony folded hi
30、s arms around her,bending his face close to hers.She cried out “Tony”and then heard him declare that he didnt want to leave her the next day and that he felt more than just the desire to please her.Then the front door bell rang.Tony freed her and disappeared from sight.It was then that Claire realiz
31、ed that Tony had opened the curtains on the front window.Her guests had seen everyghing!The women were impressed by Claire and the house.Just before they left,Claire heard Gladys whispering to another woman that she had never seen anyone so handsome as Tony.What a sweet victory to be envied by those
32、 women!She might not be as beautiful as them,but none of them had such a handsome lover. Then she remembered-Tony was just a machine.She shouted“Leave me alone”and ran to her bed.She cried all night.The next morning a car drove up and took Tony away.The company was very pleased with Tonys report on his three weeks with Claire.Tony had protected a human being from harm.He had prevented Claire from harming herself through her own sense of failure.He had opened the curtains that night so that the other women would see him and Claire,knowing that there was no risk to Claires marriage.But
