3、of Shanghai . The traffic situation of Shanghai faces the severe challenge and the unprecedented opportunity for development as well. It is a severe subject in front of us to accelerate the construction of traffic and change the traffic appearance, it is the urgent hope of the people in Shanghai too

For this reason, the municipal government has already considered improving the traffic situation as one of the most primary tasks of urban construction.2.Infrastructure construction of the traffic:During these years, the municipal government has invested huge amounts of money on building traffic f

5、acilities. These facilities have not only relieved the bad state of traffic jam greatly but also make the whole urban have a image of modernization even more. The most representative ones are as follows: Nanpu Bridge, Yangpu Bridge, two lines of subway,light railway, “ three horizontal three longitu

6、dinal” main arterial highway, etc. Only introduce a part of them here. 1 Yangpu Bridge. Yangpu BridgeYangpu Bridge went into operation in 1991.It was open to the traffic in September of 1993. The north of the bridge meets NingGuo Rd., HuangXing Rd., and it links with overhead way of inner loop-line.

7、 The south connects LuoShan Rd., linking with the main road of Pudong. The bridge has the total length 7658 meters, the net height of 48 meters for ships to pass. The total length of the main bridge is 1172 meters and it is the longest cable-stay bridge of the same type of the world at that time. Th

11、st area in Shanghai -East NanJing Rd., then crosses under Huangpu River to HuaMu area in Pudong. It joins a lot of marts and Pudong Development Zone, connected with newly-built international air harbor of Pudong. There is only 1/2 to 1/3 of domestic similar cities, 1/5 to one in more than tens of the foreign similar cities. Though the problems of

Thus, the situation that too many people with too little roads can not be easily changed, so this is a basic point of departure of issue to consider Shanghai traffic.inner-loop highway of

Some road sections are blocked, some change into an one-way lane, thus the ve

29、hicle can only take a devious route . The construction makes the road very narrow, forming the bottleneck, which seriously influence the car flow. The most obvious example is the HuMin highway. This highway under construction is extended from XinLongHua to XingZhuang passing by JinJiang Park. The gr

As to this, citizens should understand , and should expect that this situation will be improved greatly in the near future. 3.The traffic participants quality is not high enough, causing car stopping up artificially. For example: Cross roads randomly, cross over the isolating fence or the bicycle occupies automobile lane, etc in violation of the traffic rules and regulation
