He is famous all over the world, especially after awarded for Nobel Prize in 1949. He wrote most about the American southern literatu

8、re tradition. In his time, there appeared the literature trend of southern renaissance. Most of the writers think about the past and present, and finally they put their work in the wide south, to apply universally. Faulkner was the most outstanding one. Yoknapatawpha County is a made-up word by him,

9、 according to his beloved hometown, which is the background of most of his novels. Some people say Yoknapatawpha novel is the allegory of the old south. For in his novel, we can see the miniature of the conflicts between the newly emerging industry in North American and the old south. In the critica

10、l field, some scholars think his use of words and the way to express ideas are too obscure, compared to the direct and colloquial words of Hemingway. But with the deeper study of him, most scholars begin to accept his writing styles. Among the 129 short stories he wrote, only about 40 have been tran
