Although there are two possible semesters of entry there is only onetransfer admission process per year, and the deadline to submit the transferapplication every year is March 1.Brown admits transfers who will begin their time at the college asfirst-semester sophomores, second-semest

7、er sophomores and first-semesterjuniors. All transfers must successfully complete a minimum of four semestersand 15 courses at the college in order to earn their undergraduate degree.First-or-second-semester sophomores who are admitted to Brown for thespring are given the option of remaining at thei

8、r current college in thefollowing fall or spending that semester studying abroad through one of threeBrown-sponsored study abroad programs in Spain and the United Kingdom. Typicallya little more than half of all spring semester transfers study abroad throughBrown in the semester prior to their enrol

10、mentsApplicants who submit transfer applications to Brown in the spring of 202Xwill only be eligible to apply if they will have completed at least one year offull-time college enrollment before September 202X.University rules stipulate that anyone admitted as a transfer must beenrolled full-time at

11、Brown for at least four semesters prior to earning theirundergraduate degree. For this reason we discourage transfer applications fromstudents who will have accrued more than four semesters of college work prior totheir enrollment at Brown.High school students who are currently enrolled in dual-degr

12、ee programs orearly college programs are ineligible to apply as transfers. These students mayonly apply as first-year applicants.Students who have already completed a bachelors degree at another collegeare ineligible to apply as transfers.Applicants from British universities must have completed a ye

13、ar or more oftheir undergraduate education prior to applying. We will make exceptions to thisrule for applicants from British universities that provide graded fall-semestertranscripts for their students.Testing RequirementsBrown requires that transfer applicants submit the results of either theSAT o

14、r the ACT when they apply. This applies to both domestic and internationalapplicants. Only one group of applicants are permitted to apply withoutsubmitting SAT or ACT scores: American citizens or U.S. permanent residentsapplying from domestic community colleges, junior colleges or two-yearcolleges.English language proficiency must be achieved before you are admitted.Brown does not offer courses in English as a Second Language for itsundergraduates and does not accept, on a provisional basis, students who aredeficient in English.
