5、ONS ACTIVITIES2.1 Opening DateThe GM, COO and the CEO decide upon the official opening date of the hotel after complete assurance is given by the owner and/or general contractor that the date Selected can be met. It should be noted, however, that such assurance by all parties involved is not always
6、easy to obtain. In such a case, the opening date remains as originally stated. For any Additional costs or lost revenues due to eventual delays, penalties are included in the Management and lease contract. In any event, latest six months before the targeted Opening date a final decision has to be an
7、nounced in order to give the sales and Marketing department a basis to work on. In selecting the opening date, review carefully local conditions in order to avoid conflict with some local (or national) competing event (e.g. religious holidays, etc.). The opening date will appear in all releases and
8、reservations will be accepted accordingly. The actual hiring of staff according to the pre-arranged time schedule is now in effect and the salaries and wages of the employees must be paid within the budget.2.2 Major Preopening ActivitiesAnnouncement of Plans and Site for Hotel Construction A press c
9、onference should be held, attended by local officials, chamber of Commerce representatives and corporate executives Releases on Awards of Construction Contracts - emphasize contractual agreements signed with local companies Ground Breaking Ceremony - Press kits with architects renderings and facilit
10、y details Ceremony with unique possibilities for press and television - outsized shovel for participants; rising of helium balloon to show hotel height; honorary groundbreaker to be beauty queen, celebrity, civic leader etc. Corner Stone Ceremony - can be held in lieu of ground breaking if time sche
11、dule does not permit an event at the commencement of construction. Hotel brochure Corporate directory3 OPENING CEREMONY3.1 ScenariosThe opening ceremony must be carefully planned, as it is a highly visible and importantEvent, assuring press coverage, PR and the first “real” exposure of the hotel to the local community. The scope and theme of the openi
14、ng ceremony depends largely on local conditions and must be planned by the General Manager with the input and approval of the corporate office.Create General theme/ideaOrganise: Decoration, Entertainment VIPs list Invitee list F&B Sponsorships & Partnerships Coordinate the opening with neighbouring
15、buildings (if offices, residences, shopping open at the same time)In order to organise this event properly it is necessary for the General Manager, and the Preopening team to add all relevant information concerning the Opening Ceremony as Sub Tasks in Project Insight.
