Supply a DC flywheel energy storage system as described herein to be integrated with an uninterruptible power supply (UPS) system for the purpose of mainta
、ining the DC bus of the UPS within specified tolerances during failure or deterioration of the normal power supply.B. Include start-up services for all equipment.C. Rigging, installation labor and installation materials (including all interconnections between detached pieces of equipment) shall be t
、he responsibility of others. 1.02 SYSTEM DESCRIPTIONA. The Equipment shall include a DC flywheel energy storage system (DC FESS) configured as a two terminal DC power storage system and shall be used as a functional replacement or supplement for a bank of chemical batteries for static or rotary UPS
、designs. Like a chemical battery bank, it shall receive recharge and float power from the two terminal UPS DC bus and shall return power to the same DC bus whenever the bus voltage droops below a programmable threshold level. The DC FESS shall be comprised of the following major elements integrated
、into a single unit: 1. A single cabinet with one or two integral flywheel energy storage subsystem(s) (flywheel/motor/generator), bi-directional AC to DC converter (BDC), soft-start walk-in contactor and two DC terminals (one positive and one negative).2. 3. All controls and accessories necessary fo
、r the Equipment to function properly as specified. B. The DC FESS shall provide at least 13 seconds ride-through time at rated load without using chemical batteries.C. The DC FESS shall be rated 250 kW or 500 kW. Power ratings decrease linearly from 250 kW per wheel to 187 kW per wheel as discharge
、voltage setting is reduced from 480 to 360 VDC (i.e., CS2-500 at 400 VDC discharge has power capacity of 400/480 x 500 kW = 417 kW). Delivered energy from each wheel remains constant.D. An optional internal DC disconnect shall be available as an integrated part of the DC FESS without increasing the
、cabinet size and shall be included when specified.1.03 QUALITY ASSURANCEA. The DC FESS and, when included, the DC disconnect shall be tested at the factory for proper operation. The DC FESS shall be functionally tested and shall be burned in for a minimum of 48 hours. Copies of the factory test repo
、rt and quality control program documentation shall be provided on request.B. The DC FESS shall be listed and labeled by UL in accordance with the applicable requirements of UL 1012, UL 1778 and UL 1004. The DC FESS shall also be qualified for CE Mark. All other Equipment shall be listed and labeled
、in accordance with the applicable UL requirements. C. DC FESS design and construction shall conform to the following standards as applicable: 1. UL 1012 Specialty Power Supplies; UL1778, Standards for Uninterruptible Power Supply Equipment; and UL1004, Electric Motors. 2. 3. FCC Rules and Regulation
