、r TBA-120FR (hereinafter referred to as TBA) and the external data processing unit (hereinafter referred to as HOST). This document includes only the descriptions related to on-line communication. For the specifications etc. for the TBA, refer to the product specifications and operation manuals for T
、BA-120FR.The broken line in the figure below shows the boundary of the operating domain.Definition of termsThe terms used in this manual are defined below.(1) Sample ID mode, disk ID modeSample ID mode indicates the status in which Sample ID is selected for Query key on the Database page of the Syst
、em Configuration screen of the TBA. Disk ID mode indicates the status in which Disk ID is selected for Query key.(2) Auto ReturnAuto Return is a setting item on the System Configuration screen of the TBA.If this is not selected, the TBA enters the Pause status as soon as it receives a rerun order. W
、hen the pause status is released, the TBA sends an order inquiry and starts measurement. If Auto Return is selected, the TBA does not enter the Pause status when it receives a rerun order. In this case, therefore, the TBA sends an order inquiry immediately and starts measurement.(3) STAT sampleSTAT
、sample represents a sample placed at the dedicated STAT (emergency) position and for which an order is made through the STAT screen. STAT sample measurement can be performed at any time by interrupting routine measurement.(4) Sample without barcode labelIn sample ID mode, it is assumed that bar code
、s are applied to the samples. However, even if a bar code cannot be applied to a sample, measurement can be performed by selecting No Barcode for the sample on the Order Sample page of the Database screen. Such samples are referred to as samples without barcode labels.(5) Internal mode, Internal/Ext
、ernal mode, External modeInternal mode is set when Database is selected for Query Sequence on the Online Configuration screen of TBA. When Database HOST is selected, the system is set to Internal/External mode. When HOST is selected, the system is set to External mode.(6) Sample during runIf any of
、the records for a sample (including first run, rerun, and replicate) is in the Run status (the color of the record is brown), the sample is referred to as a sample during run. Normally, a rerun order or additional assay order cannot be made for a sample during run.(7) Measured sampleIf all the recor
、ds for a sample (including first run, rerun, and replicate) are in the Valid (V), Incomplete (I), or Complete (A) status, the sample is referred as a measured sample. The term measured sample does not include samples for which sampling has been completed but the results are not available yet.(8) Ackn
、owledgement (ACK) messageThe ACK message is a response that indicates that a message has been received. Although it is a response, it is not always a response to a message. The negative acknowledgement (NACK) message indicates that the message has not been received correctly.*CONTENTSPageSCOPE U-11.

(In this example, the HOST uses a 9-pin D-sub connector conforming to the RS-232C standard.)The RI and DCD signals are not used functionally but they are connected electrically. Make sure that no input signal enters these pins.(2) Synchronization method : Asynchronous (star

、 (Factory setting: 8 bits)(When 7 bits is selected, codes exceeding 7fh (80h to ffh) cannot be transmitted.)(3) Parity bitSelectable from even, odd, and no parity (NP). (Factory setting: NP)(4) Stop bit1 bit or 2 bits (Factory setting: 1)(5) Handshaking by DTR-DSREssential. The TBA turns ON the DTR

、ssion.)1.3 System OptionsThe system options for online communication are described below. These conditions can be specified on the TBA (Online Configuration screen).(1) Maximum Response Time (s)The entry range is 1 to 99 seconds, in 1-second increments. (Factory setting: 6)This is the time period for
、 which the TBA waits for a response to a message transmitted from the TBA to the HOST.(2) Max Order Response Time (s)The entry range is 1 to 99 seconds, in 1-second increments. (Factory setting: 6)This is the time period for which the TBA waits for the order message after it has received a response
、to the order inquiry message it sent.(3) Min Transmission Interval (s)The entry range is 0 to 99 seconds, in 1-second increments. (Factory setting: 0)This is the minimum interval before the TBA transmits the next message or response.(4) ACK/NACK without STX/ETXWhether or not STX and ETX are used for
、 the response message can be selected. (Factory setting: Not selected)Selected : STX and ETX are not used in the response message. Not selected : STX and ETX are used in the response message.NOTE: Here, response message refers to ACK and NACK. The default setting is Not selected (ACK/NACK with STX/ET
、X).STX and ETX are always used for other normal messages.(5) Use check digit (CD)Whether or not the check digit is used for message can be selected. (Factory setting: Not selected)Selected : A check digit is used. Not selected : No check digit is used. When the check digit is set to be used and STX/ET
、X for response message (described in (4) above) is also set to be used, the check digit is also added to the response message. To add the check digit to the response message (ACK or NACK), STX/ETX for the response message must be set to be used. If STX/ETX for the response message is not set to be used, the check digit is not added even when the check digit for the message is set to be used.(6) Query SequenceOne of the following three types of query sequence
