1、Aster Express Getting Started GuideGetting Started with Aster Express 5.0The Teradata Aster Express cluster is comprised of two virtual machines; a Queen Node and a Worker Node, with a 64-bit SUSE Linux Enterprise Server (SLES), pre-configured with 20 GBs of disk space.Use the following step-by-step

3、ep 1 - Download Aster Express1. PrerequisitesHardware requirements (minimum): 4 GB memory 20 GB free disk spaceSoftware requirements: OS: Microsoft Windows XP, Windows Vista, or Windows 7* VMware Player: Open a browser to run the download and install the free VMware Player. 7-Zip: To extract (or unc

4、ompress) the Aster Express package.* Aster Express requires a 64-bit capable CPU. A 32-bit operating system such as Windows XP can run as the host platform for the VMs, but the CPU needs to support a 64-bit Linux environment within the image.2. Download Aster Express V5.7z (5.9 GB) . This is a large

5、 file and requires that you download it during an extended period of time.3. Check the integrity of the download using the table below to check the file size and validate the MD5 Checksum. To extract the Aster Express compressed package, right-clicking on Aster Images.7z and select 7-Zip Extract Files The best way to do this is to extract to your root directory such as C:2. This directory structure that will be extracted: C:

9、de).Step 3 - Set Up Aster Express1. Configure your virtual network using one of the following methods: Navigate to the Control Panel and select Network. Right-click My Network Places from the Start menu. Windows 7 users: right-click Network and Sharing Center from the Start menu.The network configur

12、8. Start VMware Player.9. To start the Aster virtual images, navigate to the VMware Player Welcome Page and choose Open a Virtual Machine.10. Navigate to the Aster Queen Node folder in your file directory and select the TD SLES 11 v3.1.1 file. 11. Double-click this file or choose the Open option.The

13、 Aster 5.0 Queen window opens.12. Click Play virtual machine.The Aster 5.0 Queen VMware Player dialog box opens.Figure 513. 14、arding the Linux Login prompt.14. To get the Worker virtual image up and running, first open another instance of the VMware Player.15. Repeat steps 9 through 13 in this section, but this time, navigate to the Aster Worker Node options instead of the Aster Queen Node.16. IMPORTANT: As before, select

15、the I MOVED IT button and click OK.Now, the Worker and Queen virtual images are both running and are available for access through the Aster Management Console.Step 4 - Start the Aster Management Console (AMC)The Aster Management Console (AMC) user interface allows you to add Worker nodes to the clus

16、ter and monitor all activity and system resources.1. To log into the AMC enter the following URL: https:/192.168.100.100/. You may ignore any website security certificate warnings and continue to the website.2. Enter the following login Username: db_superuser and Password: db_superuser and click Log

17、in.Figure 73. The AMC Dashboard opens after login is complete.Figure 8 Step 5 - Add Worker NodeWhen the AMC is first displayed, the only node in the Aster cluster is the Queen Node. The Worker node still needs to be attached to the cluster.1. To add the Worker Node, the VMware Player Worker virtual

18、image must be up and running in.2. To add the Worker Node to the cluster, choose the Admin tab Cluster Management in the AMC user interface.3. Choose Add Node.4. Enter the Worker IP Address into the configuration field: 192.168.100.150.5. Check the Clean Node checkbox and click OK.The Aster software

19、 is uploaded and installed to the Worker node by the Queen node.Figure 96. To check the Worker Node status, see the Admin Cluster Management Add Node(s) tab. The Worker status changes from New at the start of the process to Preparing then to Prepared when the process is complete.Figure 10Step 6 - Ac

20、tivate Cluster1. To activate the Aster cluster click the Activate Cluster button in the AMC user interface.During this process the Activate Cluster button is dim. 21、ning and ready to start analyzing Big Data!Figure 12Step 7 - Shutting Down AMC and VMware PlayerIt is important to follow these steps when shutting down the Aster Management Console and the VMware Player.To shut down the AMC application:1. Log off by clicking the Logout button in the upper right cor

22、ner of the AMC screen.To shut down the VMware Player Worker and Queen images: Be sure to shut down the worker first.2. To close the first virtual image, select the Aster Worker (not the Queen) image.3. Navigate to the Player dropdown menu and continue to the Power Suspend sub-menus, and click Suspen

23、d.The Suspend action preserves the state of the virtual machine, returns the Queen and Worker to the library in the Suspended state, and restores when you access the virtual images at a later time.Please refer to the VMware Player website for more information.4. Click Yes in the VMware Player dialog

24、 box to confirm that you want to suspend the Worker virtual machine.5. The VMware Player welcome page is displayed after the suspend operation is complete.6. Repeat steps 1 through 4 in this section, but this time, navigate to the Aster Queen image instead of the Aster Worker image.Now, the Worker a

25、nd Queen virtual images are both Suspended.7. Click Player Exit to exit each VMware Player.Figure 13Troubleshooting1. 26、Tool2. Trouble Connecting to the Queen Node: Check that you are not also connected to a VPN. The VPN may override your local network and prevent you from connecting to the Queen Node.3. Linux Login: It is not necessary to log into the virtual machines directly. If you wish to log in, use the followi

27、ng Username and Password for both the Queen and Worker Nodes. Enter the Username: aster, and click Login In.
