Although the government, students, parents,

2、 teachers and researchers have spent a lot of time on getting higher scores, students gain a few practical skills and have poor oral English in fact. In recent years, the multimedia has been frequently used in the area of education especially in English teaching. Many educators and researchers have

3、discussed and researched the possibility of using multimedia in English teaching. In nowadays, multimedia equipments are frequently installed and used in almost all schools, even in rural areas. This thesis is making effort to explore how to create a better language-teaching environment by aids of m

4、ultimedia technique in junior high school and find some ways of improving the teaching efficiency. The thesis will first present the theories that assist the application of multimedia in English teaching. In the second part, the conditions and significance of using multimedia in junior high school E

5、nglish teaching in China will be discussed. In the third part, the thesis will focus on the negative factors on the application of multimedia. And the last part is providing some solving ways. Key words: Multimedia Application; Teaching Efficiency; Junior High School 摘 要 随着我国英语教学的进一步进展,政府部门对中学英语教学投入

6、专门大的关注。尽管政府、学校、家长、学生都在为英语成绩的提高而尽力,但英语教学成效却差强人意。在如此的情形下,教育者和研究者提出将多媒体技术运用到英语教学中,多媒体教学能够充分运用情感因素,激发学生学习爱好和内在学习动机,增进学生学习英语的踊跃性,从而提高英语教学成效。 本文第一介绍了多媒体技术,多媒体教育和它的理论依据及原那么,接着介绍了多媒体技术在初入耳、说、读各类英语教学活动中的运用,在此基础上分析出多媒体在初中英语教学中的意义和优势和教师运用多媒体的误区,最后针对误区提出了一些实践运用多媒体在初中英语教学中的建议。 关键字: 多媒体应用;课堂效率;初中英语 ContentsIntrod

13、n a screen”(,2020:1317). And we can find a more complexity definition on the Internet, “Multimedia is media and content that uses a combination of different content forms. Multimedia includes a combination of text, audio, still images, animation, video, or interactivity content form”( ). The develop

14、ment of multimedia bases on the development and enrichment of modern information technology and some English teaching theories. Multimedia not only a word related to science but it also a medium that is more and more frequently used in common peoples daily life, and we may meet it in many places. We

15、 can find the application of multimedia in various areas in our daily life such as advertisements, art, education, entertainment, business, scientific research, medicine and so on. That makes our life more colorful and much more convenient, so the significance of researching multimedia application c

21、e multimedia application in English teaching are how to use multimedia properly in English classes and how to maximize effectiveness of multimedia in English teaching. This thesis is making effort to explore how to create a better language-teaching environment by aids of multimedia technique in juni

Theoretical FrameworkAs it is the first part of the paper, some theories that assist the application of multimedia in foreign langu

24、age teaching will be put forward to support the thesis statement. They are the Theories of the National English Curriculum Standards (The Ministry of Education, 2020) and theories of CAI. The theories of the National English Curriculum Standards There are many basic principles for the National Engli

25、sh Curriculum Standards for Nine years Compulsory Education and they provide theoretical support for multimedia application. These principles are different from the traditional syllabus in many parts. The principle of quality-oriented educationThe basic aim of the National English Curriculum Standar

26、ds is to educate all students, and emphasis quality-oriented education. The new standards “take care of students affective needs as well as other needs” (Wang Qiang, 2006:42-43). The application of multimedia can stimulate their interests in learning, help them have an audio-visual of the teaching c

27、ontents, and it can reduce the difficulty of learning. That can help students experience the sense of knowing and they can gain self-confidence in this process. Therefore, the objective to develop students comprehensive ability in using English language can reach easily. The great variety sources of

28、 multimedia such as pictures, sounds, and images can cultivate students cultural sense, develop their practical skills, and cultivate their creative spirit. The principle of student-centered modelThe National English Curriculum Standards changed the teacher-centered teaching model to student-centere

29、d model. The change of the role in learning and teaching shows the social trend of respecting students and their differences. When teachers use multimedia in teaching, they not only just use words, texts and blackboard to teach knowledge, but also use different sources to arouse students interests.

30、It reflects the fact that teachers respect students differences and they teach based on the real facts of students. Students have more opportunities to express themselves by using the target language they are learning when teachers using multimedia in class. Using multimedia in class suits to the pr

The principle of optimizing learning resources The National English Curriculum Standards requires that teachers should take advantage of all resources they can get and optimize learning resources and teaching methods. Multimedia courseware can combine different con

32、tent forms and resources such as text, audio, still images, animation, video, or interactivity content forms. All these resources contribute to students understanding and learning. The application of multimedia by teachers can provide rich and interesting resources that are practical, lively, newly to students. In the learning process, students have more opportunities to take part in activities and use the target language they are learning.
