”havebeenreplacedby“I'mbusy,gotowatchtelevision.”

AndwatchTVtheydo;countthembythemillions.

Butit'susuallynotchildren'stelevisionthatchildrenwatch.Saturdaymorning,thechildren'shour,amountstoonlyabout8percentoftheirweeklyviewing.

Watchingadulttelevision,ofcourse,fromtheMatchGameinthemorning,totheafternoonatGeneralHospital,fromthemuggingsandbattlesontheeveningnewsrightthroughthefamilyhourandpastintoStarskyandHutch.That'swhereyoufindourkids,overfivemillionofthem,at10p.m.,notfewerthanamillionuntilaftermidnight!

Allofthisisdonewithparentalpermission.

Television,usedwell,canprovideenrichingexperiencesforouryoungpeople,butwemustuseitwithsomesense.Whenthecarpetisclean,weturnoffthevacuumcleaner.Whenthedishesareclean,thedishwasherturnsitselfoff.

Notsothetelevision,whichisonfromthesuninthemorningtothemoonatnightandbeyond!
