英国政府3日宣布，从2012年开始，英国的大学学费将升至最高每年9000英镑。
负责大学事务的大臣戴维·威利茨说：

为此，政府将设立总额1.5亿英镑的国家奖学金计划，资助那些家境贫寒但很有潜力的学生。
