Englishgrammarisverycomplicatedbecause,unlikeChinese,therearemanyverbtenses.Evenstrangerthanverbtenses,Englishgrammaralsocontainssomethingveryconfusing.Forexample,Idon’trememberhowmanytimesmymiddleschoolteachertriedto“impose”thedifferencesbetweenusedtoandbeusedtoonus.Sometimeshewouldgoonwiththeexplanationfor20minutesorso.Heevensummarizedthedifferencesbylistingthreeorfourpointsforustomemorize.However,theycouldneverstayinmyhead.Idon’trememberhowmanytimesIgotitwrongwiththesentencescontainingusedtoorbeusedtoonmyexams.Iwasreallyconfusedwiththesetwophrases,andIcannevergetthemright.
