Rhetoric
Whatisrhetoric?
Rhetoricistheartofusinglanguageeffectively.Itisconcernedwithpunctuation,diction,figuresofspeech,theprinciplesofgoodwritingandusage.Inourdiscussionofrhetoric,emphasisislaidonfiguresofspeech,sincetheyplaysuchanimportantandinterestingrolebothinliteratureandinourdailylife.
Whatarefiguresofspeech?
Figuresofspeecharerhetoricaldevicesofdeviationsfromtheordinaryorliteralwayofexpressions,withaviewtoproducinggreaterimpressivenessandeffect.

A.Figurative(转义)

Inthetreatmentoffiguresofspeech,emphasisislaidonusage,especiallytheusageofcommonlyusedverbs,prepositions,adverbsandconjunctionsthatappearinthefiguresofspeechorinrelatedusage.
