Abstract:

Takingthespaceforexample,theauthorcomparesthedifferencesbetweenChineseandwesternconceptofprivacy.Usedthemethodofcomparativestudy,thethesisisfocusedonpeople’sdifferentunderstanding,differentfocusesanddifferentvaluesofChineseandwesternconceptofprivacytoexploretheunderlyingreasonsfromtheperspectiveofcross-culture.Caringmoreaboutgroupprivacy,Chinesepeopleregardedcollectivismasthemainvalueorientation.Onthecontrary,theindividualisticorientationoftheWesternersadvocatesprivateandindividualprivacy.AnalyzingthedifferencesbetweenChineseandwesternconceptofprivacyisagoodwaytounderstandthedifferencesbetweenChineseandWesternculture,soastopromoteinterculturalcommunication.

中西方隐私观的比较研究——以空间方面为例

摘要：

本文以中西方人在空间方面的隐私观为例，分析中西方隐私观的差异。

文章通过比较研究的方法，从跨文化的视角出发，主要从中西方对于隐私观的不同理解、不同侧重点以及不同的价值观来阐释中西方隐私观差异产生的内在原因。

中国人是以集体主义为主要的价值取向，因此他们十分崇尚群体隐私；相反地,西方人强烈追求以个人主义为主要的价值取向，所以他们崇尚私有和个体隐私。

剖析中西方在隐私观方面的差异，能够更好地理解中西方文化差异，从而促进跨文化交际。

1.1Background

BecauseofthedevelopmentofeconomicglobalizationandthedeepeningofChina'sopening-up,Chinahaskeptinclosetouchwithwesterncountries,thecommunicationandcollisionbetweenChineseandWesternculturealsoappearedineveryone'slife.Ininternationalintercourse,wewillmeetthepeoplewhoarefromaliencultureandthewayofthinking,livinghabitsaswellastheirbehavioraredifferentfromus.Therewillbesomeculturalconflictsinevitablyintheprocessofinteraction.ThedifferentunderstandingoftheconceptofprivacyinChinaandthewestisthemainfactortocausepeople'sculturalconflictsincrossculturalcommunication.Atthesametime,theconceptofprivacyisanextremelyimportantissueinthestudyofcrossculture,anditisalsoanunavoidableproblem.ChinaandtheWesthaveverydifferentculturalbackgrounds,values,customsandsoon,sotheirconceptofprivacyisverydifferent.UnderstandingthedifferentviewsofChineseandWesternconceptofprivacywillbegreatpracticalsignificanceforthepromotionofcrossculturalcommunication.
