一、课程的性质、地位和任务
本课程属于英语专业实践课的一门主干课程。
它的教学任务是对精选的规范的语言材料进行讲解、操练,传授系统的英语语音、语法、词汇、篇章等基本技能,进行全面、严格的基本技能训练,培养学生实际运用语言的能力。
在语言教学中帮助学生提高综合素质,培养学生的思维能力,同时对学生进行学习方法的指导,在听说读写译各项技能方面在综合英语I和综合英语II的基础上有较大提高。
二、课程主要内容概述及教学基本要求
本课程内容广泛,设计文化与教育、政治与经济、战争与和平、道德与伦理、婚姻与家庭、爱情与亲情、科技与生活、知识与智慧等主题,使学生在学习语言知识的同时,扩展个人视野,提高人文素养。
课程的基本要求如下:
a)语音方面应较系统的掌握英语语音基础知识,掌握各种语音现象的特点,并能自觉指导自己的语音训练,较好的掌握朗读技巧,了解、区别英美发音的主要差异,达到发音规范、语音、语调自然流畅。
b)掌握较系统、完整的语法知识体系,并能运用自如。
c)能听懂外籍教师和专业的课程或报告内容,听懂电台、电视正常速度的播放。
d)能用得体、自然、流畅的英语进行简单话题的交谈。
e)能借助词典达到一定的阅读水平。
f)能写出内容完整、语法正确、语言流畅、用词妥当、格式正确的英语作文。
