ThischapterwillintroduceyoutoafavoritemodelofNeurolinquisticprograms（NLP）,LogicalLevelAlignment（LLA）.LLAhelpsyouachievetheidealofunderstandingtheoutcomethatyouwant.Myteacher,NLPdeveloperandTrainerRobertDiltsdevelopedthismodel,knownaslogicallevelsdevelopingitfromthepreviousworkofGregoryBateson.Ithelpsyouunderstandwhatmakesyoutick,anidiomthatmeanshowsomethingworks,inthiscasehowyouwork.LLAalsohelpsyouunderstandwhatmakesotherpeopletickandwhatmakesanorganizationtick.Ithelpsyoubreakdownexperiencesintomanageablepartsandhelpsyouconfidentlyadjustyourgoalsandoutcomestomakethemwellformedinyourfutureandwithyourpurposeinlife.

Onapersonallevel,capabilitiesarethetalentsandskillswehavewithinourselves.Onalargerscale,suchasacompany,theyarethetalentsandskillsofthemanypeoplethatmakeuptheorganization.Oftentheyareskillsyouhavelearnedinlifelikewalkingorhittingasoccerball,andnowneednoconsciousefforttodo.Ilovetodance;someofyouhaveseenmedancingattheschool…IamoldernowandnotasgoodaswhenIwasyoungbutIstilllovetodance.LastweekIfoundanaerobicsdancegroupatmyparkoncampus.Iquicklylearnedanewdance,muchmorequicklythansomeoftheotherladiesbecauseIhavetakenandtaughtdanceformorethanfortyyears.Ithasbecomeaneasycapabilityforme.

Manybehaviorscomefrommentalmapsthatwemake.Asanexample,inthelastlessonyouwereaskedtothinkofsomethingsuchasapurpleelephant.Younowhaveamentalmapofapurpleelephantandyoucancomeupwithitinyourheadwhereasbeforeyouhadtoconstructitbyfirstthinkingofagreyelephantandthencoloringitpurple.Nowyouhaveamentalimageorconstructofit.Yourmagnificentbrainhasthecapabilitytocreateanewmentalimageforyou,fileitawayandthenbringitforwardintoyourmemorywhenitisneeded.
