Prerequisites

Tousethistrainingmaterialeffectively,youshouldbefamiliarwiththewebandwithyourdepartment’sdata.ThistrainingisdesignedtofamiliarizeyouwiththeCognosreportingtool;itisnotdesignedtofamiliarizeyouwiththeunderlyingdatainUD'ssystem.Thetrainingisbasedondatainademonstrationdatabase.

ImportantNote

Thistrainingdocumentwasdesignedoriginallytobeusedinaclasssetting.Therefore,theexercisesaremeanttobefollowedinasequence.Ifyouhavedifficultyworkingthroughanexercise,trythefirstfourexercisestofamiliarizeyourselfwiththebasics.

TrainingObjectives

ThisclasswasdesignedusingadesktopcomputerrunningtheWindowsXPoperatingsystemandusingtheInternetExplorer（version6.0.2）browser.Ifyouuseadifferenttypeofcomputer,operatingsystem,orbrowser,someofthescreengraphicsmayappearslightlydifferentfromthoseprintedhere.However,thefunctionofthescreen（page）shouldremainthesame.
