TherearetwotypesofCET:

bandfourandbandsix.Thefirstislowerlevel.Andthesecondisupperlevel.Therearesectionslikelistening,reading,vocabularyandstructure,clozeortranslation,errorcorrectionandwriting.Thetotalscoreis100points,with60beingapass,and85beingexcellent.

TOEFL

Studentsfromnon-English-speakingcountrieshavetotaketheTOEFL(TestofEnglishasaForeignLanguage)toapplyforgraduateorpostgraduatecoursesinAmericanandCanadianuniversities.TheexamisalsorecognizedincountrieslikeBritain,Australia,andSingapore.

Theexamhasfoursections:

listening,structure,reading,andtheTestofWrittenEnglish(TWE).

Youhave110minutestocompletethefirstthreeandthirtyminutesfortheTWE.Totalscoreis667points(minustheTWE),andsixpointsfortheTWE.Mostuniversitieshave550asthelowestadmissiblelevelforpostgraduatecourses.Thescoreisgoodfortwoyears.

GRE

Studentsinnon-English-speakingcountriesalsohavetotaketheGRE(GraduateRecordExamination)toapplyforgraduateschoolintheUSandCanada.
