1.当suggest,suggestion表“建议”时,其后的宾语从句、表语从句的谓语动词用should+do,should可以省略。

一、虚拟语气在名词性从句中的用法
1.在“It’snecessary/strange/natural/important/apity/nowonder/impossible+thatclause”句型中,从句要用虚拟语气,即“从句中的谓语动词要用(should+)动词原形”。
Itisimportantthatwe(should)masteraforeignlanguage.
我们掌握一门外语是重要的。
Itisstrangethatshe(should)refusetocometotheparty.
很奇怪,她竟然拒绝参加晚会。
It’snecessarythatwe(should)studyhard.
我们努力学习是必要的。
2.表示“建议”“命令”“要求”等的动词如suggest,propose,order,demand,request,require,insist等后面的宾语从句中,谓语动词用“(should+)do”形式。
Isuggest/propose/order/demand/request/require/insistthathe(should)besenttothenearesthospitalassoonaspossible.我建议/命令/要求/坚决要求他应尽快被送往最近的医院。
注意:
当suggest表示“暗示,表明”之意时,则不用虚拟语气;当insist表示“坚持认为”之意时,也不用虚拟语气。
Theexpressiononhisfacesuggestedthathewasveryangry.
他脸上的表情表明他很生气。
3.在表语从句、同位语从句中的用法:
在suggestion,proposal,order,request,requirement,advice等名词后的表语从句、同位语从句中,谓语动词用“(should+)do”形式。
Mysuggestionisthatwe(should)sendafewcomradestohelptheothergroups.
我的建议是我们应派几位同志去帮助其他小组。
Hegaveanorderthatthework(should)bedoneatonce.他下命令立刻做这项工作。
二、虚拟语气在其他结构中的用法
1.在“Itis(about/high)time+(that)...”结构中,that从句的谓语用过去式,有时也可用“should+动词原形”形式,should不能省略。
Itishightimethatwefought/shouldfightagainstthehaze.是我们该同雾霾开战的时候了。
2.由asif/though引导的方式状语从句或表语从句有时也用虚拟语气。
与现在事实相反谓语用过去时,与过去事实相反用过去完成时。
Themanspeaksasifhewereaforeigner.
这人说话像个外国人。
Theymetforthefirsttime,buttheytalkedasiftheyhadbeengoodfriendsforyears.
他们第一次见面,但他们交谈起来好像是多年的好朋友一样。
注意:
asif/though从句中不一定都要用虚拟语气。
如果情况的真实性、可能性很大,就要用正常时态来描述。
例如:
Itlooksasifitisgoingtorain.天看起来好像要下雨。
(下雨的可能性很大)
