BlackHistoryMonthwasfirststartedbyafamousAfrican-AmericanhistorianDr.CarterG.Woodsonintheyear1926.FebruarywaschosenasthemonthtocelebratetheAfrican-AmericanhistorybecauseitwasthebirthmonthoftwoofthemosthighlyvaluedpeopleamongAfrican-Americans.ThesewerePresidentAbrahamLincoln,whofreedtheslaves,andFrederickDouglass,whowasalsothefirstvicepresidentialnominee(被任命者)amongAfrican-Americans.Initially,BlackHistoryMonthwasknownasthe“NegroHistoryWeek”.ThiswasDr.Woodson’sattempttoencourageawarenessamongcitizensaboutthecontributionofAfrican-Americanstowardsthebuildingofthenation.Itwasonlyintheearly1970’sthatthename“NegroHistoryWeek”changedto“BlackHistoryMonth”.Andlater,intheyear1976,theentiremonthofFebruarywasdeclaredtobetheNationalAfrican-AmericanHistoryMonth,ortheBlackHistoryMonth.

“TimespentwithDadofteninvolvesjoking,teasingandotherplayfulinteractions.Fathers,ascomparedtomothers,weremoreinvolvedinleisureactivitiesandhadmorefriend-likeinteractionswiththeirchildren,whichiscrucialforyouthsocialdevelopment,”thestudyshowed.
