Thesecondpoetisnotaswellknowasthefirstone,though,yethispoemisalsoveryfamous,andbeautiful.Thereisalsointerestingstoryrelatedtohispoem.Thisstorywillshowhowpopularpoem-writingwasintheTangDynastyThispoetwasascholarfromtheimperialCollege.Onenight,whenhewastakingtheboattojiujiangCity,agroupofarmedrobberssuddenlyboardedtheboat,andshoutedloudly,"who'sonthisboat?

"Thepoet'sservantquicklytoldthemthenameofthepoet.Uponhearingit,thegangleaderbowedandaskedtoconfirmifhewasthefamouspoetfromtheImperialCollege.Whenhegotconfirmed,hesaid,"we'veheardthathewriteverygoodpoems.we'llnotrobyou.wejustlikehimtowriteusapoem.Itwellbemorepreciousthananymaterialwealth."Sothepoetwroteapoemwiththebrushpenthespot.Here'sthepoem.Letmereaditforyou.ThetitleisMidnightGuestsatOvernightStayatJingLanSha.

Receivingthispoem,thegangleaderwasoverjoyed,andleftmanygiftstothispoet.Amazinglyfiftyyearslater,ascholarmetawealthymancalledWeiSimin,aneldergentlemaninGuangDongProvince.TheyhadgoodtimedrinkingwineandpoetryoneeveningatWeiSimin'smansion.Whenthescholarrecitedthepoemthatwaswrittenaboutfiftyyearago,WeiSiminbecameveryexcited.Hesaidthathewasarobberfiftyyearsago.Butonenighthemetthepoetwhotreatedhim.asafriend.Thepoetevenwrotehimapoem.Eversincethen,WeiSiminsaidhehadgiveuphisevilway,andreturnedtobeingagoodperson.Hesaidthathewouldneverforgetthepoet'skindness.
