过去进行时
1.构成：
was/were+动词的现在分词
WewerewatchingTVfromseventoninelastnight.
2.过去进行时的否定式直接在be动词后面加上not、疑问式是把be动词提到主语之前。
以watch为例，其否定式、疑问式和简单回答形式如下：

3.现在分词变化规则
1.在动词原形后直接加-ing
look-looking;cook-cooking;read-reading
2.以不发音字母e结尾的动词，去掉e再加-ing
write-writing;live-living
*3.以重读闭音节结尾且末尾只有一个辅音字母的动词，双写该辅音字母后再加-ing
begin-beginning;swim-swimming;sit-sitting
*4.少数几个以ie结尾的动词，要变ie为y，再加-ing
die-dying;lie-lying
*5.以ic结尾的动词，要把ic变成ick再加ing
picnic→picnicking;traffic→trafficking
4.常用的时间状语，如thismorning,thewholemorning,alldayyesterday,from…o’clocktoteno’clocklastevening,atthattime,then,atthatmoment等。

5.用法：
（1）过去进行时的基本用法主要表示过去某一时间正在进行的动作或一段时间内一直做的动作。
IwashavingatalkwithLiHuaatthattime.
Hewaswritinghiscompositionlastnight.
（2）when/while引导的时间状语从句
when引导的时间状语从句：
表示“（这时）突然”之意
IwastakingawalkwhenImethim.我正在散步，突然遇见了他。
Wewereplayingoutsidewhenitbegantorain.我们正在外边玩，这时下起雨来了。
*注意分析从句中的两个动词：
通常发生的时间比较长的或者持续性动词会用过去进行时
while引导的时间状语从句：
一般强调两个动作同时发生

（3）过去进行时可表示按计划、安排过去某时刻将要发生的动作（注意主句必须是表示过去的）。
