tofindbetterjobs,tomakemoremoney;andtodoallthethingsthattheywereunabletodo.Often,however,thestrongdesirethatparentshavefortheirchildrenareanothercauseofthedisagreementbetweenthem.Often,theydiscoverthattheyhaveverylittleincommonwitheachother.
Finally,thespeedatwhichchangestakeplaceinmodernsocietyisanothercauseofthegapbetweenthegenerations.Inatraditionalculture,elderlypeoplearevaluedfortheirwisdom,butinmodernsociety,theknowledgeofalifetimemaybecomeoutofdateovernight.Theyoungandtheoldseemtoliveintwoverydifferentworlds,separatedbydifferentskillsandabilities.
