奥巴马每周电台演讲奥巴马每周电台演讲mp以及文本完整版以及文本完整版HENsystemofficeroom【HEN16H-HENS2AHENS8Q8-HENH1688】奥巴马每周电台演讲mp以及文本RemarksofPresidentBarackObamaWeeklyAddressSaturday,January24th,2009WebeginthisyearandthisAdministrationinthemidstofanunprecedentedcrisisthatcallsforunprecedentedaction.Justthisweek,wesawmorepeoplefileforunemploymentthanatanytimeinthelasttwenty-sixyears,andexpertsagreethatifnothingisdone,theunemploymentratecouldreachdoubledigits.Oureconomycouldfall$1trillionshortofitsfullcapacity,whichtranslatesintomorethan$12,000inlostincomeforafamilyoffour.Andwecouldloseagenerationofpotential,asmoreyoungAmericansareforcedtoforgocollegedreamsorthechancetotrainforthejobsofthefuture.Inshort,ifwedonotactboldlyandswiftly,abadsituationcouldbecomedramaticallyworse.ThatiswhyIhaveproposedanAmericanRecoveryandReinvestmentPlantoimmediatelyjumpstartjobcreationaswellaslong-termeconomicgrowth.IampleasedtosaythatbothpartiesinCongressarealreadyhardatworkonthisplan,andIhopetosignitintolawinlessthanamonth.Itsaplanthatwillsaveorcreatethreetofourmillionjobsoverthenextfewyears,andonethatrecognizesboththeparadoxandthepromiseofthismoment-thefactthattherearemillionsofAmericanstryingtofindworkevenas,allaroundthecountry,theressomuchworktobedone.Thatswhythisisnotjustashort-termprogramtoboostemployment.Itsonethatwillinvestinourmostimportantprioritieslikeenergyandeducation;healthcareandanewinfrastructurethatarenecessarytokeepusstrongandcompetitiveinthe21stcentury.TodayIdliketotalkspecificallyabouttheprogressweexpecttomakeineachoftheseareas.Toacceleratethecreationofacleanenergyeconomy,wewilldoubleourcapacitytogeneratealternativesourcesofenergylikewind,solar,andbiofuelsoverthenextthreeyears.Wellbegintobuildanewelectricitygridthatlaydownmorethan3,000milesoftransmissionlinestoconveythisnewenergyfromcoasttocoast.Wellsavetaxpayers$2billionayearbymaking75%offederalbuildingsmoreenergyefficient,andsavetheaverageworkingfamily$350ontheirenergybillsbyweatherizingmillionhomes.Tolowerhealthcarecost,cutmedicalerrors,andimprovecare,wellcomputerizethenationshealthrecordinfiveyears,savingbillionsofdollarsinhealthcarecostsandcountlesslives.Andwellprotecthealthinsuranceformorethan8millionAmericanswhoareindangeroflosingtheircoverageduringthiseconomicdownturn.Toensureourchildrencancompeteandsucceedinthisneweconomy,wellrenovateandmodernize10,000schools,buildingstate-of-the-artclassrooms,libraries,andlabstoimprovelearningforoverfivemillionstudents.WellinvestmoreinPellGrantstomakecollegeaffordableforsevenmillionmorestudents,providea$2,500collegetaxcredittofourmillionstudents,andtriplethenumberoffellowshipsinsciencetohelpspurthenextgenerationofinnovation.Finally,wewillrebuildandretrofitAmericatomeetthedemandsofthe21stcentury.ThatmeansrepairingandmodernizingthousandsofmilesofAmericasroadwaysandprovidingnewmasstransitoptionsformillionsofAmericans.ItmeansprotectingAmericabysecuring90majorportsandcreatingabettercommunicationsnetworkforlocallawenforcementandpublicsafetyofficialsintheeventofanemergency.AnditmeansexpandingbroadbandaccesstomillionsofAmericans,sobusinesscancompeteonalevel-playingfield,wherevertheyrelocated.Iknowthatsomeareskepticalaboutthesizeandscaleofthisrecoveryplan.Iunderstandthatskepticism,whichiswhythisrecoveryplanmustandwillincludeunprecedentedmeasuresthatwillallowtheAmericanpeopletoholdmyAdministrationaccountablefortheseresults.Wewontjustthrowmoneyatourproblems-wellinvestinwhatworks.Insteadofpoliticiansdolingoutmoneybehindaveilofsecrecy,decisionsaboutwhereweinvestwillbemadepublic,andinformedbyindependentexpertswheneverpossible.Welllaunchanunprecedentedefforttorootoutwaste,inefficiency,andunnecessaryspendinginourgovernment,andeveryAmericanwillbeabletoseehowandwherewespendtaxpayerdollarsbygoingtoanewwebsitecalled.Noonepolicyorprogramwillsolvethechallengeswefacerightnow,norwillthiscrisisrecedeinashortperiodoftime.Butifweactnowandactboldly;ifwestartrewardinghardworkandresponsibilityoncemore;ifweactascitizensandnotpartisansandbeginagaintheworkofremakingAmerica,thenIhavefaiththatwewillemergefromthistryingtimeevenstrongerandmoreprosperousthanwewerebefore.Thanksforlistening.ADDRESSOFTHEPRESIDENTTOTHENATIONJanuary31,2009ThismorningIdliketotalkaboutsomegoodnewsandsomebadnewsasweconfrontoureconomiccrisis.ThebadnewsiswellknowntoAmericansacrossourcountryaswecontinuetostrugglethroughunprecedentedeconomicturmoil.Yesterdaywelearnedthatoureconomyshrankbynearly4percentfromOctoberthroughDecember.Thatdeclinewasthelargestinoveraquartercentury,anditunderscorestheseriousnessoftheeconomiccrisisthatmyadministrationfoundwhenwetookoffice.AlreadytheslowdownhascostustensofthousandsofjobsinJanuaryalone.Andthepictureislikelytogetworsebeforeitgetsbetter.Makenomistake,thesearenotjustnumbers.Behindeverystatistictheresastory.ManyAmericanshaveseentheirlivesturnedupsidedown.Familieshavebeenforcedtomakepainfulchoices.Parentsarestrugglingtopaythebills.Patientscantaffordcare.Studentscantkeeppacewithtuition.Andworkersdontknowwhethertheirretirementwillbedignifiedandsecure.Thegoodnewsisthatwearemovingforwardwithasenseofurgencyequaltothechallenge.ThisweektheHousepassedtheAmericanRecoveryandReinvestmentPlan,whichwillsaveorcreatemorethan3millionjobsoverthenextfewyears.Itputsataxcutintothepocketsofworkingfamilies,andplacesadownpaymentonAmericasfuturebyinvestinginenergyindependenceandeducation,affordablehealthcare,andAmericaninfrastructure.NowthisrecoveryplanmovestotheSenate.Iwillcontinueworkingwithbothpartiessothatthestrongestpossiblebillgetstomydesk.WiththestakessohighwesimplycannotaffordthesameoldgridlockandpartisanposturinginWashington.Itstimetomoveinanewdirection.Americansknowthatoureconomicrecoverywilltakeyears-notmonths.Buttheywillhavelittlepatienceifweallowpoliticstogetinthewayofaction,andoureconomycontinuestoslide.ThatswhyIamcallingontheSenatetopassthisplan,sothatwecanputpeoplebacktoworkandbeginthelong,hardworkofliftingoureconomyoutofthiscrisis.Noonebill,nomatterhowcomprehensive,cancurewhatailsoureconomy.Sojustaswejumpstartjobcreation,wemustalsoensurethatmarketsarestable,creditisflowing,andfamiliescanstayintheirhomes.LastyearCongresspassedaplantorescuethefinancialsystem.Whilethepackagehelpedavoidafinancialcollapse,manyarefrustratedbytheresults-andrightfullyso.Toooftentaxpayerdollarshavebeenspentwithouttransparencyoraccountability.Bankshavebeenextendedahand,buthomeowners,students,andsmallbusinessesthatneedloanshavebeenlefttofendontheirown.Andaddingtothisoutrage,welearnedthisweekthatevenastheypetitionedfortaxpayerassistance,WallStreetfirmsshamefullypaidoutnearly$20billioninbonusesfor2008.WhileImcommittedtodoingwhatittakestomaintaintheflowofcredit,theAmericanpeoplewillnotexcuseortoleratesucharroganceandgreed.Theroadtorecoverydemandsthatweallactresponsibly,fromMainStreettoWashingtontoWallStreet.SoonmyTreasurySecretary,TimGeithner,willannounceanewstrategyforrevivingourfinancialsystemthatgetscreditflowingtobusinessesandfamilies.Wellhelplowermortgagecostsandextendloanstosmallbusinessessotheycancreatejobs.WellensurethatCEOsarenotdrainingfundsthatshouldbeadvancingourrecovery.Andwewillinsistonunprecedentedtransparency,rigorousoversight,andclearaccountability-sotaxpayersknowhowtheirmoneyisbeingspentandwhetheritisachievingresults.Rarelyinhistoryhasourcountryfacedeconomicproblemsasdevastatingasthiscrisis.ButthestrengthoftheAmericanpeoplecompelsustocometogether.Theroadaheadwillbelong,butIpromiseyouthateverydaythatIgotoworkintheOvalOfficeIcarrywithmeyourstories,andmyadministrationisdedicatedtoalleviatingyourstrugglesandadvancingyourdreams.Youarecallingforaction.NowisthetimeforthoseofusinWashingtontoliveuptoourresponsibilities.WEEKLYADDRESSOFTHEPRESIDENTTOTHENATIONFebruary14,2009Thisweek,IspentsometimewithAmericansacrossthecountrywhoarehurtingbecauseofoureconomiccrisis.Peopleclosingthebusinessestheyscrimpedandsavedtostart.FamilieslosingthehomesthatweretheirstakeintheAmericanDream.Folkswhohavegivenuptryingtogetahead,andgivenintothestarkrealityofjusttryingtogetby.TheyvebeenlookingtothosetheysenttoWashingtonforsomehopeatatimewhentheyneeditmost.Thismorning,Impleasedtosaythatafteralivelydebatefullofhealthydifferenceofopinion,wehavedeliveredrealandtangibleprogressfortheAmericanpeople.Congresshaspassedmyeconomicrecoveryplananambitiousplanatatimewebadlyneedit.Itwillsaveorcreatemorethanmillionjobsoverthenexttwoyears,ignitespendingbybusinessandconsumersalike,andlayanewfoundationforourlastingeconomicgrowthandprosperity.Thisisamajormilestoneonourroadtorecovery,andIwanttothanktheMembersofCongresswhocam
