Inthesix-and-one-halfyearssincethefederalgovernmentbegancertifyingfoodas“organic,”Americanshavetakentotheideawithconsiderableenthusiasm.

Buteating“organic”offersnoguaranteeofanyofthat.

但是吃“有机”食品不能对这些提供保障。

AndthetruthisthatmostAmericanseatsobadly—weget7percentofourcaloriesfromsoftdrinks,morethanwedofromvegetables;thetopfoodgroupbycaloricintakeis“sweets”;andone-thirdofnation’sadultsarenowobese—thattheorganicquestionisasecondaryone.
