WorldDayforWaterisestablishedbytheUnitedNationsGeneralAssembly'sresolution47/193of22December1992.Itisauniqueoccasiontoremindeverybodythatconcreteeffortstoprovidecleandrinkingwaterandincreaseawarenessworld-wideoftheproblemsandofthesolutions,canhelpmakethedifference.

4)Lastyearwewitnessedsomegreatdisasterssuchasthetyphoon“Yunna”andthetsunamiintheIndiaOcean.WhatacoincidencethatthethemeforWorldWaterDay2004was“WaterandDisaster”.WorldWaterDay2005willbeguidedbytheupcomingwaterdecade'stheme"WaterforLife".ItwillbethestartingdayforthisInternationalDecadeforAction,"WaterforLife".
