EXOSswitchesstoretwoversionsofcodeinnon-volatileRAM.ThetwoversionsarecalledPrimaryandSecondary,butthatdoesnotmeanthatPrimaryistriedfirstandifitfailstoworkthenSecondaryistried.PrimaryandSecondaryarejustnames.The“showswitch”commandwillletyouseewhatversionsofsoftwareareloadedintotheswitch,versiontheswitchisrunningon（“ImageBooted”）,andwhatversionwillbeloadedthenexttimetheswitchboots（“ImageSelected”）.

EXOSwon’tletyoureplaceyourbootedversion.Soifyoubootedonthesecondaryimage,youcanonlyloadnewcodeintotheprimaryimageslot.EXOSnowhandlestheslotselectionforyouautomatically.Setupatftpserverwiththenewsoftwareandthenloaditontotheswitchwiththecommand

EXOSallowsyoutostoreandusemultipleconfigurationfiles.

saveconfig-willwritethecurrentconfigtowhicheverfileisspecifiedin“Configselected”.

saveconfig-willwritethecurrentconfigtoanewfilenameandthenaskifyouwanttomakethenewfilethe“defaultdatabase”;doyouwanttoselectthisfileforbooting.

Eventhoughconfigfilesalwaysendin“.cfg”EXOSwillcomplainifyouaddtheextension.Sojustgiveitthenameofthenewconfig.
