Manypeoplearestudyinghowtokeepmentalhealthnowadays,whichisnecessaryofcourse.Actuallytherearealotofwaystokeepmentalhealth.Butinmyopinion,firstofallistookeepmoodssteady.Youknowtherearetoomanyreasonstomakeusloseourtempersinreality.espciallypeoplecannotcontrolthemselvesforanger,worry,overthinking,sadnessandsoonandsoforth.Basedonmanyreportsaboutmoods,weknowthatisverybadforourhealth.wehavetomanagetostopthem.oneofthemostvalidmethodsistochangeourminds.Icangiveanexample,forinstance,youcomebackhomefromwork,youfindyourwifeiswatchingtvandhasntcookedforthefamily,maybeyouwannatobehittheceilingatonce,butkeepslowplease.youcansignyourselffirstthisway:

Asallthemessageswillenterourmindsandbecomeapartofourlife.Thustocontrolourthoughtsandactsatlast.Ifsomearebadmessages,whichwillleadustobadsituation,especiallyhurtoursouldeeply,thoughsometimeswedontknowthispointatall,butitdoeswork.Sowatchoutallthetime.

BEIJING-Morethan60percentofinvestorsinthestockmarketinChinasaytheyregularlyexperiencenegativemoods,accordingtoarecenthealthsurvey.

OnWednesday,theChineseMedicalDoctorAssociation,theChineseHospitalAssociation,theBeijingHealthMaintenanceOrganizationandtheCimingCheckupCompanyjointlyreleasedtheresultsofasurveybasedonthepollingof376,750stockmarketinvestorsontheChinesemainland.ThesurveywasconductedbetweenOctober2010andFebruary2011.

Some61.3percentofrespondentssaidtheyfeltnegativemoodswhile11percentexperiencedfatigue,9.3percentwereirritableand8.9percentcouldnotshakeafeelingofdisinterestinlife.

Amongthosewhohadproblemsformorethan10daysinamonth,12.7percentsaidtheyweresufferingfromextremepressure,8.9percentsaidtheyhadcutdowntheircommunicationswithothers,8.1percentfeltmentalstress,5.7percentsensedisolationand1.7percenthadcontemplatedsuicide.

"Thestockmarketisunpredictable,soinvestorsneedtofindwaystodealwiththeupsanddownsandattachimportancetotheirhealth,"saidHanXiaohong,presidentoftheCimingCheckupCompany,whoheadedtheresearchteam.

Nearly30percentofrespondentssaidtheyspentbetweenfiveandeighthoursadayinfrontofcomputerstryingtofindwaystowinonthemarkets.Some30.3percentfollowedthestockmarketforthreetofivehoursadayand17.8percentspentlessthanthreehoursonthetask.

Asaresultofusingcomputersforlongperiods,22.2percentfeltpainintheirnecksandshouldersand20.9percentsaidtheactivityharmedtheireyes.

Manyofthestockmarketplayershadhealthconditions.Some16.8percenthadcervicaldisease,13.8percentsufferedfromfattylivers,10.9percentwereobeseand4.4percenthadmentaldisorders.

"Themarketslumpedsharplyinrecentweeksand,ifIhadknownit,Icouldhavewithdrawnmymoney,"saidWeiBo,56,anetizeninBeijing.

Weiusedtospendhoursplayingthemarketseverydayuntilrecently,whenhecametorealizethelifestylewasunhealthy.

"Youcanneverpredictwhatwillhappenonthemarketfromoneminutetothenext,soitisnotreasonabletoobsessovereverydecision,"hesaid."Moreover,everyonewillbetogetherwhenthereisadramaticslump,sowhatthepointofpanicking?

WangShaoli,vice-directoroftheBeijingHuilongguanHospital,oneofthelargestpsychiatrichospitalsinChina,saidstockinvestorsneedtofindwaystocopeortheywillnotbeplayingthemarketsforlong.

"Insteadofblamingthestockmarket,theyshouldlookattheirownattitudes,"saidWang,whonotedthatmanypeoplestartinvestingbecausetheywanttogetrich.Inextremecases,somethroweverycenttheyhaveintostocksandevenborrowmoneytospeculate.

"Forthem,theonlythingthatmattersissuccess.Sotheyarefacingexcessivepressureeveryday,whichcandisturbtheirsleep,digestivesystemsandcardiovascularsystems,"Wangsaid.

"So,investorsshouldadjusttheirattitudeiftheywanttokeepplayingthemarket."

Chinahad133.67millionactivestockmarketaccountsinApril,accordingtothelateststatisticsreleasedbytheChinaSecuritiesRegulatoryCommission.

MembersofHUGhaveoftentalkedaboutphysicalhealthandmentalhealthandtheneedtolookatthetwoissuestogether.Thisisduetothefactthatsometimesourmembershaveexpressedconcernthattheirphysicalillnessesarenotacknowledged,sometimesbecauseoneaffectstheother(andisnotalwayspickedupon)andsometimesbecauseweknowthatphysicalexerciseandfitnesshasagoodeffectonourmentalhealthandwellbeing.

In2007anumberofHUGmembersseparatelyaskedustolookatthistopicinoneoftheroundsofHUGmeetingswherewemeetinourbranchesacrosstheHighlands.Asusualwemetthroughoutournetworkandheldinformaldiscussionsguidedbyaseriesofpromptquestionstostimulatedebate.Thesemeetingswereallwrittenupandthenotesprovidedthebasisforthisreport,whichhasinturnbeenapprovedbytheHUGRoundTablecommittee.
