一．各种状语从句的典型例句
1．条件状语从句：
引导条件状语从句的词（组）主要有if,unless,so（as）longas,注意：
条件从句中的if不能用whether替换。
提高掌握：
onconditionthat,so（as）faras,ifonly（=if）。

即：

2.时间状语从句：
表示时间的状语从句可由when,as,while,whenever,after,before,till（until）,since,once,assoonas

1）Whenshecamein,Istoppedeating.（当---的时候，表示“瞬时动词”）
2）Whilemywifewasreadingthenewspaper,IwaswatchingTV.（当---的时候，wasreading是延续性的动词，wasreading和waswatching同时发生）
3）Ilikeplayingfootballwhileyoulikeplayingbasketball.（然而，表示“对比”）
4）Aswewasgoingout,itbegantosnow.（as强调句中两个动作紧接着先后发生，而不强调开始下雪的特定时间）

3）Itis/hasbeenfivemonthssinceourbosswasinBeijing.我们老板离开北京有五个月了。
（“Itis/hasbeen---since”自从---以来多长时间）
4）HardlyhadIsatdownwhenhesteppedin.我刚坐下，他就进来了。
（“hardly/scarcely----when---”/同“nosooner---than”注意时态的应用。

3．原因状语从句；原因状语从句是表示原因或理由的，引导这类从句的最常用的连词是because,since,as,nowthat（既然）等，for表示因果关系时（它引导的不是从句）为并列连词，语气不如because强。
1）Thesweatershrankbecauseitwaswashedbadly.（强调“直接原因”）
2）Since[As]we’venomoney,wecan’tbuyit.（由于）
3）Sinceyouarefreetoday,youhadbetterhelpmewithmymathematics.（“既然”强调双方共知的原因,
4）Hecouldnothaveseenme,forIwasnotthere.（for引导的原因状语从句并不说明主句行为发生的直接原因，只提供一些辅助性的补充说明，for引导的原因状语从句只能放于主句之后并且必须用逗号将其与主句隔开。

4结果状语从句由sothat（从句谓语一般没有情态动词），so…that,such…that等引导

5．目的状语从句引导目的状语从句最常用的词（组）是so,sothat（从句谓语常有情态动词）=inorderthat,incase（以防，以免）等。
1）Youmustspeakloudersothat/inorderthatyoucanbeheardbyall.（为了；以便）
2.Speakclearly,sothattheycanunderstandyou.
3）Bettertakemoreclothesincase（以免）theweatheriscold.
6．让步状语从句让步状语从句可由although,though,as,evenif（though）,

however,whatever,注意：
as引导的让步状语从句一般是倒装的。
1）Although/Thoughhewaswornout,（still）hekeptonworking.（虽然，纵然,尽管）
2）We’llmakeatripevenif/thoughtheweatherisbad.（“即使……”）

3）Hardas/thoughheworks,hemakeslittleprogress.（虽然，纵然，尽管）

7．方式状语从句

二．状语从句的省略：
状语从句的省略原则主要是：
如果从句中的主语和主句中的主语一致，就可以经过一定的变动把状语从句中的主语和谓语的一部分或全部省略，或从句中是itis,可以把itis省略，从而使语言更加简洁、明了。
现就把各种状语从句的省略现象列举如下：
