Asoneofthemostfamouscastlesinthe Loire Valley,thecastlewasbuiltduringthe11thcenturyontheRiverCher.Itwaspassedthroughmanyhands.ThecastlewasnotdestroyedduringtheFrenchRevolutionbecauseitwastheonlybridgeacrosstheriverformanymiles.

Severalyearsago,thehotelmanagernoticedagroupofpeoplewatchinginrespectfulsilenceasCapixabasavedthreebabyseaturtles.Thehotelmanagerrealizedthattheseturtlesweregreatambassadors(大使).Theydrawpeople’sattentionandmakethemwanttolearnaboutandprotectthelocalenvironment. 

Capixabahasworkedinthehotel’sTartarugaProgramforthepast15years.(Tartarugameans turtle inPortuguese.)
