PrototypeTechnician（ModelMaking）

RapidPrototypeTechnicianisaccountableforthefinalprocessingofmodelsgeneratedonavarietyofRapidPrototypetechnologies.Thepositionrequiresbasicmodelmakingskillsandanunderstandingofbasicmachining,casting,toolingandassemblingmethodsandtechniques.TheRapidPrototypeTechnicianmustdemonstratetheproperuseofhandandpowertoolsandmechanicalability.Theindividualneedstobeaself-starterthatcanworkindependentlyaswellasateam,processexcellentcommunicationandorganizationalskills,andensurework,materials,andtheworkplacecomplywithallestablisheddepartmental,environmentalsafetyandindustrypolicesandpractices.

PrimaryDutiesandResponsibilitiesofJob:

1.Providepost-processingsupportforthecompletionofrapidprototypemodels.Communicateandexecutemodelpostprocessworktomeetcustomerexpectations.

2.MaintainRPLaboratoryshopareainasafeandorderlycondition.MaintainRPmachinesandsupportequipmentinproperworkingorder.

3.Communicatewithmanagement,andRPfacilitypersonnel,providinginformationonprojectstatusandexpectedcompletiondates.

4.Performotherdutiesasresponsibilitiesnecessitateorasassigned.

TheMechanicalEngineerpositionsupportsthecompany’sinsulationbusiness,specificallyanewlydevelopedproduct.Theobjectiveofthepositionistoprovideengineering,designandprojectmanagementservicesformachinesandtoolsrequiredtomanufactureit'sproducts.

Responsibilities:

Asateammemberofthecompany’sproductdevelopmentteam,theselectedcandidateisexpectedtoperformhis/herrolewiththeutmostlevelofintegrityandprofessionalism.

Specificresponsibilities:

-Basedonthecompany’sdefinedstrategies,design,developandoptimizedownstreamproductproductionequipmentfornewlines.Createmachinedesignsbasedonconceptualsolutions.

-Developconceptualsolutionsforbothnewmanufacturingequipmentandexistingmanufacturingequipment.

-SupportProductDevelopmentManagerwithinnovativemethodsforproductmanufacture.

-Improveequipmentasneededfor（results）productivityimprovementandmeeting/exceedingcustomerexpectations.

-Prepareexperimentsandprototypeequipment.Criticallyanalyzetheresultingdatatojustifymachinedesigns.

-Completeengineeringcalculationsandprovideallnecessary“handson”trainingtoensureequipmentissafe,reliableandprovideslongservice.

-Developwrittenspecificationsandtechnicaldrawingsforequipmentdesign,purchaseandinstallation.

-Managethepurchaseofequipmentbyworkingwithoutsidecontractorsthatsupplyengineering,design,equipmentandequipmentservices.

-Manageprojectbudgetsandschedules.

-AssistwithotherdutiesasassignedbytheProductDevelopmentManager.

Qualifications:

-5to10yearsofsolidprofessionalexperienceinamanufacturingenvironmentideallywithacombinationofrelevantandprogressiveworkexperienceinbasicmachinedesignandexperiencewithbasicautomationandmovementdesign.

-PossessstrongengineeringaptitudewithBSinMechanicalEngineering

-Analyticalandcriticalthoughtprocess.Demonstrateslogical,datadrivenapproachesusinggenerallyacceptedengineeringpractices.

Description

prototypesfromSLA,shop-made,andsuppliercomponentstoverifynewdesignsandpreparefortesting.

Assistsinfabricationand/orprocurementofproductprototypesthroughoutsidevendors.Inspectsand

helpsqualifynewproductprototypes.Assistsengineeringinproductdevelopmentthroughdesignreviews,prototypedevelopmentandfixturedesign.AssistinproductdevelopwithCADsupportasrequired.

Documentsresultsoflabexperimentsandcommunicatesresultsthroughlabreports,presentations,anddialogwithNPIDesignTeam.MaintainscalibrationoflabequipmentandmaintainsISOdocumentationforlab.
