OneofthegreateststoriesofragstorichessuccessisthatofAndrewCarnegie,whostartedlifeinpovertybutbecametherichestmanintheworld.

Carnegienowbegantosavealittlemoneyand,withthehelpofhisemployer,begantomakesomesuccessfulinvestments.Heinvestedintheironindustryandeventuallysetupinbusinesshimself,owningseveralironandsteelplants.Thiswaswherehemadehisfortune.Bythe1890s,theCarnegieSteelCompanywasthebiggestandmostprofitablebusinessintheworld.

Carnegiehadalwaysbelievedthatthepursuit(追求)ofwealthwasneveranendinitself.Inhisview,successful,wealthypeopleshouldre-distributetheirwealthforthebenefitofeveryoneinsociety.Truetohisword,in1901,attheageof66,heretiredfrombusinessanddevotedtherestofhislifetocharitywork.
