1.《老人与海》英语读书笔记  TheoldmanandtheseaiswrittenbyAmericanwriterHemingway.Itisadaptedfromrealpeopleandfacts.Beforereadingthisbook,IreaditontheInternet.Thebookwasoriginallycalledtheexistingsea,andthefirstdrafttookonlyeightweeks.Theauthorhasadeepfriendshipwithanoldfishermaninreallife.Thebookalsoreferstotheexperienceoffriends.  Inthisbook,Santiago,theoldfisherman,explainswithhisactionsthat“peoplearenotbornforfailure.Apersoncanbedestroyed,butcannotbedefeated”.Evenafter81daysofdisappointment,hestillinsistsonthecontinuationofthe85th.Ofcourse,hehadaharvestonthe85thday,butitwasnoteasytoshowtheharvesttothepublic.Hemetthebiggestmarlinhehadevermet.Unwillingtogiveup,hewasforcedtosailonthevastsea;Unwillingtogiveup,hehadthecouragetofightwithsharks;Unwillingtogiveup,hefinallybroughtbackthebonestoprovehim.  RomanRolandsaidthatamanisgreatbecauseofhisheart.Theoldfishermanisatypicalexample.Heisbothaloserandawinner.Hefailed.Hefailedtobringthemarlinbackcompletelyandwasinjured;Hesucceeded.Heprovedhimselftopeopleandshowedhissuccess. ”Hemingwayrepliedcoldly,“don’teatsoft,don’teathard,don’teatimmediatelosses.”ThisshouldbeHemingway’stoughmanquality.JustlikeSantiago,anoldfishermaninhisworks,facingtheattractedgalanoshark,hefirstfoughtwithaharpoon.Aftertheharpoonwastakenawaybytheshark,hebegantouseaknife,thebladebroke,andthenusedanoarhandleandashortstick.Hegrittedhisteethandinsisted,andfinallydroveawaytheshark.  Thespiritoftheoldfishermaninthebookisworthlearningfrom.Eveniftheluckisbadandtheweatherisnotbeautiful,allfactorsarepersuadingtheoldfishermantogiveup,giveupthestrugglewithbigfish,giveupsailingintheseaandgiveuphishardwonsuccess,buthechosetobitehisteethandsticktoit,tenaciousandresolute.   Istillrememberseeingasimilarsceneonmymobilephonenotlongago.Itwasaboxingmatch.Aplayerwasdoomedtofailure.Hehadnopowertofightback,buthewouldratherbebeatenthansurrender.WhataSantiagohero!

  Lifeisfullofdifficultiesandsetbacks,whichweneedtopursueconstantly.Althoughthisroadislonganddifficult,aslongaswecanbelikeholybrother,wewillalwaysbeawinner.  Wecan’tlosethecouragetofightagainstdifficultiesbecauseofrepeatedfailures,becauseweneedtoprotectourspiritualfire-don’tgiveinanddon’tgiveup!
